Subtitles will be available in English, French Canadian, and Latin American Spanish.
Nolan has personally curated what is essentially a 12-part, behind-the-scenes Blu-ray documentary on the making of the film that includes Plotting a Course, Icons, The Widest Window, On Location, The Horse, The Fall of Troy, Ithaca, Battle Ready, Apparent Magic, The Sea People, The Score, and Bringing It Home.[Read on here...]

Warner Archive sets a DEFINITIVE Tex Avery MGM Blu-ray Collection for 12/1, plus Zavvi goes insolvent & lots of new disc reviews
“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times…”
We’ve got some terrific news from our friends at the Warner Archive Collection today, and you can probably guess what it is based upon the thumbnail at the left and the banner at the top of the page.
Unfortunately, we’ve also got some bad news for fans of physical media.
But we’ll get to all that in a minute. First, let’s recap a bunch of the new disc reviews the team has shared here on the site over the last several days…
Tim has offered his thoughts on Steve Oedekerk’s Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls (1995) in 4K Ultra HD from Via Vision Entertainment.
Stephen’s taken a look at Norman Jewison’s Jesus Christ Superstar (1973) in both Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD from Kino Lorber Studio Classics, as well as Chris Huang’s Demigod: The Legend Begins (2022) on Blu-ray from Deaf Crocodile, and Martin Scorsese’s New York, New York (1977) on Blu-ray from Imprint Films.
Dennis has reviewed Jorge Dorado’s Mindscape (2013) and Philip Noyce’s Catch a Fire (2006) on Blu-ray from Kino Lorber Studio Classics, along with Philip Kaufman’s Henry & June (1990) on Blu-ray from Imprint Films.
Todd has delivered his take on Fumihiko Sori’s Ping Pong (2002) on Blu-ray from 88 Films, Mauro Bolognini’s Corruption (1963) and Grzegorz Krolikiewicz’s The Dancing Hawk (1977) on Blu-ray from Radiance Films, and David Markey’s Desperate Teenage Lovedolls (1984) and Lovedolls Superstar (1986) on Blu-ray from MVD Visual.
And finally, Stuart has delivered a look at Luchino Visconti’s Conservation Piece (1974) on Blu-ray from Raro Video and Kino Lorber, as well as Bruce Beresford’s King David (1985) on Blu-ray from Imprint Films, and Sophie Hyde’s Jimpa (2025) on Blu-ray from Kino Lorber.
As always, more new disc reviews are already cooking from the team, so be sure to keep checking back for them all week here at The Bits!
And before we continue with today’s news, our own Russell Hammond has also turned in the latest update of our Release Dates & Artwork section with all the latest Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD cover art and Amazon pre-order links. As you know, we’re an Amazon Affiliate, which means that whenever you order literally anything from Amazon after clicking to them from one of our links, you’re helping to support our work here at the site and we really do appreciate it.

Lionsgate Reveals New Titles, Plus: Please Support The Bits & Your Favorite Physical Media Websites!
All right, we’re slowly getting back up to speed here at The Bits this week. The site itself seems be working well at the moment, which is good. (Knock wood.) And I’m getting back into the swings of things here as site editor after visiting family.
The whole Bits team’s working on more Blu-ray and 4K reviews, and I myself have spent the last two days working on a few myself. To that end…
I’ve just posted my reviews of John Carney’s Sing Street: 10th Anniversary Edition (2016) in 4K Ultra HD from Lionsgate Limited, as well as Phil Lord and Chris Miller’s Project Hail Mary (2026) in 4K Ultra HD from Amazon MGM Studios and Alliance Entertainment.
Tim has turned in his thoughts on Robert Z. Leonard’s The Cardboard Lover (1928) on Blu-ray from Undercrank Productions.
Stephen’s taken a look at Tim Burton’s Mars Attacks! (1996) in 4K Ultra HD Steelbook from Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment.
Dennis has shared his take on Phil Karlson’s Framed (1975) on Blu-ray from Imprint Films.
Stuart has delivered reviews of Jean Becker’s A Man Named Rocca (1961) on Blu-ray from Kino Lorber Studio Classics.
And Todd has offered his thoughts on Shūji Terayama’s The Boxer (1977) on Blu-ray from Radiance, as well as Aleshea Harris’s Is God Is (2026) on Blu-ray from Amazon MGM and Alliance.
What’s more, I’ve had the chance to complete a few additional reviews as well, so you can look forward to my thoughts on Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair (2004) in 4K Ultra HD from Lionsgate Limited tomorrow, as well as Akira Kurosawa’s Madadayo (1993) on Blu-ray from Imprint Asia (a joint review with Todd) on Thursday.
And more reviews are definitely forthcoming from the whole team.
Now then… I wanted to say a few humble but important words today about the new challenges we’re dealing with here at The Digital Bits—challenges sadly now occupying almost everyone who runs a physical media website these days. [Read on here...]

Todd Doogan rejoins The Bits’ review team, plus Sony’s Talladega Nights 4K & more announcement news!
Good afternoon, disc fans!
After yesterday’s big release news of Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair in 4K from Lionsgate, it’s time to start catching up on news that dropped while we were grappling with our AI bot-scraping issue.
To start with today, we’ve got a number of new disc reviews to share with you, and—on that very note—we also have a nice surprise announcement as well…
Our old friend Todd Doogan is returning to The Digital Bits as a review contributor!
Longtime Bits readers will know that Doogan was a founding member of The Bits team, not only reviewing DVD and Blu-ray discs here for many years, but also writing his own Doogan’s Views and Gripe Soda columns here at the site.
Since we have so many great disc releases that need covering, Doogan has offered to revive Doogan’s Views as a new “quick” review format—these will feature the Doogan’s Views banner at the top of the review. And while the reviews won’t be as detailed as our regular review work, they’ll include enough information to highlight discs worth your attention and help you make buying decisions. These are the kinds of titles that would otherwise fall through the cracks, but that deserve some love from fans—indie and boutique deep cuts, genre oddballs, and more.
Todd’s first new Doogan’s Views reviews this afternoon include Chris Stuckmann’s Shelby Oaks (2025) on Blu-ray from Decal Releasing and Johannes Roberts’ Primate (2025) on Blu-ray from Paramount via Alliance.
We’re all thrilled here to have Todd on The Bits team again, and I’m personally very happy to have my friend calling videodisc balls and strikes once more as only he can.
So welcome back, Todd, and watch for more Doogan’s Views reviews in the days and weeks ahead!
Meanwhile today, we have a bunch of new disc reviews from the rest of The Bits review team too, including... [Read on here...]

Becoming Led Zeppelin in 4K, plus Netflix’s Masters of the Universe, Star Wars Blu-ray reissues, new reviews, Bill on The Extras & more!
This has been a very busy week here at The Bits, tracking upcoming titles, talking with industry sources, and the like, thus the lack of posts.
But we’ve definitely got both new disc reviews for you today as well as some release news worth sharing. Let’s start with the latter first.
Today we’ve got…
Tim’s reviews of Chor Yuen’s The Sentimental Swordsman (1977) on Blu-ray from Arrow’s Shawscope: Volume Three box set, Severin Films’ Saga Erotica: The Emmanuelle Collection in 4K Ultra HD, and Michael Curtiz’s Captain Blood (1935) in 4K Ultra HD from Criterion.

And Dennis’ take on Raoul Walsh’s Manpower (1941) and David Butler’s By the Light of the Silvery Moon (1953) both on Blu-ray from the Warner Archive Collection.
Now then… before we get started on news today, I’m going to be joining my friend Tim Millard on his next The Extras podcast to talk about the latest developments in the ongoing Paramount/Skydance, Warner Bros., Netflix saga. Looks like we’re going to be recording the episode this weekend, so be sure to check Tim’s social media for news on the episode drop, and I’ll share the details on my own as well when I have them. Tim’s thoughts on The Royal Tenenbaums (2001) in 4K Ultra HD from Criterion’s Wes Anderson Archive box set, as well as Sam Firstenbeg’s Revenge of the Ninja (1983) and Menahem Golan’s Ninja III: The Domination (1984) both in 4K from Kino Lorber Studio Classics.
Stuart’s review of Alfred E. Green’s The Gracie Allen Murder Case (1939) on Blu-ray from Kino Lorber Studio Classics and Sam Wood’s The Quiet American (2002) on Blu-ray from Imprint Films.
And Dennis’ take on Mervyn LeRoy’s Lovely to Look At (1952) on Blu-ray from MGM via the Warner Archive Collection.
Now then, I’m making an effort to catch up on a bunch of announcement news that’s happened over the last couple of weeks. As many of you know, I’ve had a couple of challenges here at The Bits lately, including recovering from prostate surgery and also my PC died on the Friday before Thanksgiving, which has necessitated buying a replacement, getting it set up, installing all my old software, reorganizing my files, etc., all in an effort to get back up to speed. And I’m getting there—right now, even the simplest tasks are just a little bit different, and taking just a little bit more time and effort than usual to accomplish, as I settle into the new machine. But within a couple weeks, things should be back to normal. So thanks for your patience in the meantime! [Read on here...]
