From the press release...
“The new 4K restoration was completed sourcing both the original camera negatives and protection RGB separation master positives for the best possible image, and color corrected in high dynamic range for the latest picture display technology. The audio was sourced primarily from a 1995 protection copy of the Original Magnetic Mono soundtrack. The picture and audio restoration was completed by Warner Bros. Post Production Creative Services: Motion Picture Imaging and Post Production Sound.”
Extras will include the previous audio commentary by George Stevens Jr., writer Ivan Moffat, and critic Stephen Farber. You can see the cover artwork above left and also below.
Paramount has also just set Adam and Aaron Nee’s The Lost City for release on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD on 7/26, with the Digital release expected tomorrow (5/10). There’s no word yet as to the A/V specs, but special features will include deleted scenes, bloopers, and 7 behind-the-scenes featurettes (including Dynamic Duo, Location Profile, Jungle Rescue, The Jumpsuit, Charcuterie, The Villains of The Lost City, and Building The Lost City). Again, you can see the cover artwork below.
Meanwhile, Lionsgate’s The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent is now available for Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD pre-order on Amazon with a street date of 6/21. We’ve learned the 4K will offer Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos audio. Extras will include deleted scenes, audio commentary, the SXSW Film Festival Q&A, and 6 featurettes (The Mind, Glimmers of a Bygone Cage, Everybody Needs a Javi, Nick, Nicky, and Sergio, Second Act Action, and Cages 5 and Up). You can see the cover artwork below.
And here’s a title we mentioned the other day: Paramount’s Event Horizon (1997) is now up for pre-order on Amazon as a 4K Ultra HD Steelbook that’s due to street on 8/9. Here’s a look at the Steelbook art—click on the image to pre-order...
Keep in mind, those last two titles aren’t yet officially announced, but we expect studio press releases to drop any day now.
Also not yet announced (but confirmed by retail sources) are Michael Bay’s Ambulance in Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K UHD on 6/14 from Universal, and the DreamWorks animated title The Bad Guys on all formats on 6/21.
Finally, here’s a nice surprise: Random Space Media has just dropped their latest upcoming title clue on social media:
I’d say there’s a good chance that’s Spider-Man: No Way Home on Blu-ray 3D (along with regular Blu-ray and 4K in Australia as well). Fingers crossed.
We’ll leave you with a look at the cover art for those titles mentioned above. Click to pre-order them on Amazon...
Stay tuned!
