Also today, 88 Films in the UK has revealed that their November slate is going to include Masters of the Universe (1987), Night of the Comet (1984), and Gamer (2009) in 4K (the Gamer package will also include Blu-ray 3D!), and Death Warrant (1990) on Blu-ray.
Umbrella Entertainment in Australia has announced a nice slate of December titles, which include Tucker & Dale vs. Evil (2010) and Mysterious Skin (2004) in 4K, plus Penny Lane is Dead (2025), Wilfred: Series 1 & 2 (2007-2010), and Jodorowsky’s Dune (2013) on Blu-ray.
Eureka! in the UK has announced a few new titles for November, including Fritz Lang’s Scarlet Street (1945) on 4K UHD + Blu-ray, a Blu-ray box set called Stockholm After Dark: Swedish Noir (that includes A Woman’s Face, June Night, While the Door Was Locked, While the City Sleeps, and Hidden in the Fog), Wheels on Meals (1984) in 4K Ultra HD, and Wrack and Ruin: The Rubble Films at DEFA on Blu-ray (which includes The Murders Are Among Us, Somewhere in Berlin, Police Raid, Marriage in the Shadows, and The Blum Affair).
And Kino Lorber Studio Classics has set Peter Hankoff’s film adaptation of Gilbert and Sullivan’s classic musical comedy The Pirates of Penzance (1983) for 4K Ultra HD release on 10/20. They also have an Angélique: Complete Five Film Collection (1965-68) coming on Blu-ray on 9/29.

Finally today, we need to take a moment today to acknowledge the passing—all in the past week or so—of Hayden Panettiere (Nashville, Heroes), Tim Curry (The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Legend), Dolly Parton (9 to 5, Steel Magnolias), and just today, voice actor Peter Cullen (the voice of Optimus Prime in The Transformers and also Eeyore in the Winnie the Pooh franchise).
Others have spoken prolifically and far more poignantly about each of them than I can here today, and I’ve included links so that you can start reading about their lives and careers. But this is just a tough week for such losses, and each of them will be dearly missed.
