In terms of release news today, pre-orders are now open on Amazon for Bong Joon-ho’s Mickey 17 (2025) in Blu-ray, DVD, 4K Ultra HD, and 4K Steelbook from Warner Bros. The street date is TBA.

I’m not sure if they’ve announced it yet, but Gints Zilbalodis’ animated and Oscar-winning Flow (2024) will be coming to Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD from Criterion. That street date is also TBA. (Amazon pre-order link is here.)

Kino Lorber Studio Classics has revealed a pair of new Blu-ray titles for release in May, including Terence Young’s The Amorous Adventures of Moll Flanders (1965) on 5/20 and Emma Seligman’s Bottoms (2023) on 5/27. We also have an official street date for Stephen Surjik’s Wayne’s World 2 (1993) in 4K Ultra HD—look for it to arrive on 5/27.

The BFI is producing a new 30th anniversary 4K Ultra HD edition of Mathieu Kassovitz’s La Haine (1995) for release on 4/21/25. It’ll feature a 4K restoration supervised by cinematographer Pierre Aїm with Dolby Vision HDR, an alternative score by award-winning electronic music collective Asian Dub Foundation (recorded at the Royal Festival Hall in 2025), tons of legacy features, and “an 80-page book featuring writing by Ginette Vincendeau and Kaleem Aftab, an interview with Mathieu Kassovitz, archival essays and reviews, and more.” (Note that Criterion has released this title here in the States in 4K as well.)

Here’s a nice surprise: a new boutique label called Bitratio Video is releasing a restored Blu-ray of Edwin S. Porter’s The Great Train Robbery (1903), which is a short silent film produced by the Edison Manufacturing Company. It’s neither the first Western film, nor the first narrative film, though it’s still a significant piece of history—an early effort to marry film spectacle with American Western mythology, via tropes that later became iconic: horseback chases, gunfights, etc. The disc is reportedly coming in Q4 2025, and is “digitally remastered by Cineaste Restoration from an archival 35mm provided by the Library of Congress” with an all-new musical score composed by Manuel Morais. Additional extras will be included as well. The release will be limited to 2K copies. You can learn more here.

VCI Entertainment is releasing Cecil B. DeMille’s The Little American (1917) on Blu-ray on 6/10. The film stars Mary Pickford.

The MVD Rewind Collection has set Pierre-William Glenn’s Terminus (1987) for Blu-ray release on 6/10. This is in addition to their planned Blu-rays of Tunnel Vision (1976) and the double feature of The Bikini Carwash Company (1992) + The Bikini Carwash Company II (1993) both due on 5/13.

Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment is releasing Stanley Kubrick’s Full Metal Jacket (1987) in 4K Steelbook packaging on 4/29.

And for you music fans, Rhino Records is releasing a Blu-ray Audio edition of Prince’s seminal 1984 album Purple Rain on 4/25. The disc will feature a new Dolby Atmos mix, as well as the original stereo mix in lossless 96/24. Click here or on the image below to pre-order.
