In other news today, Thunderbean Animation has just released a pair of great animated titles on Blu-ray, including Mid Century Modern Animation: Volume 1 and Mid Century Modern Animation: Volume 2. These include a host of rare and vintage “modern” animated shorts from the 40s, 50s, and 60s, among them theatrical shorts, commercials, industrial films, and drive-in commercials. The discs sell for just $16 each. If you’re a fan of vintage animation, they should be fun to see.
Meanwhile, Kino Lorber Studio Classics will release National Lampoon’s Class Reunion (1982) on Blu-ray and DVD on 12/4.
And some 4K news: Warner Bros. will release Bradley Cooper’s A Star Is Born and the animated Smallfoot on 4K Ultra HD the same day as Blu-ray and DVD. Street dates are TBA, but you can pre-order the titles here and here. We also suspect they’ll release The Nun in 4K, but it’s not up yet for pre-order on the format. Lionsgate will release Kin on 4K day and date with Blu-ray and DVD (pre-order it here).
Finally today, we’ve have a trio of new Blu-ray reviews for you today, including Tim’s look at Exorcist II: The Heretic from Scream Factory, David’s take on The Virgin Soldiers from Twilight Time, and David’s thoughts on the Three Identical Strangers documentary from Universal. Enjoy!
