The good news is that Happy Death Day will include a new audio commentary with director Christopher Landon and actor Jessica Rothe, while Happy Death Day 2U will include a new commentary with Landon, Rothe, and actor Sarah Yarkin. Also today, GKids and Shout! Factory have announced a pair of new Blu-ray Steelbooks from Studio Ghibli—Only Yesterday and The Tale of Princess Kaguya—both due on 4/19.
Scream Factory has also set The Ice Demon for Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital release on 4/5, followed by Peter Graham Scott’s Night Creatures (1962) for Blu-ray release on 4/19, and Wes Craven’s Cursed (2005) for Blu-ray release on 4/26. The latter two will be Collector’s Editions.
Kino Lorber Studio Classics has set Alain Jessua’s Eurocrime thriller Armageddon (1976) for Blu-ray release on 4/5. Following on 4/12 is an exciting double-feature: Robert Fuest’s The Abominable Dr. Phibes (1971) and Dr. Phibes Rises Again! (1972). Also newly revealed as “coming soon” from the company is a Film Noir: The Dark Side of Cinema VIII Blu-ray box set containing Jack Hively’s Street of Chance (1942), Ford Beebe’s Enter Arsène Lupin (1944), and Irving Pichel’s Temptation (1946), as well as Carlo Campogalliani’s Son of Samson (1960).
And Capelight Pictures will release the South Korean actioner Hard Hit on Blu-ray and DVD on 2/22.
