Now then, let’s get to the release news...
Paramount has just revealed a new Top Gun: Maverick 2-Movie Collection Limited Edition Steelbook Giftset that includes both films in 4K and Blu-ray along with a ton of swag for SRP $139.99. The street date for this is 12/6, which is a month after the single film Blu-ray and 4K SKUs of Top Gun: Maverick (on 11/1). Here’s what it looks like and you can pre-order it on Amazon here or by clicking on the image...
Speaking of Paramount, Best Buy sources are now telling me that Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction will be released on 4K Ultra HD and 4K UHD Steelbook on 12/6 (note that some other sources are still claiming 11/1, but we do believe that 12/6 is the correct date).
Kino Lorber Studio Classics has set street date for three of their previously revealed 4K Ultra HD catalog titles. Look for Escape from Alcatraz (1979) on 11/8, followed by High Plains Drifter (1973) and Mystery Men (1999) on 11/22.
Universal has officially set Jordan Peele’s Nope for Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K UHD release on 10/18 and it too is now available for pre-order on Amazon by clicking on the artwork below.
While we’re on the topic of Universal, we now have confirmed street dates for a few more Ultra HD titles. Look for The Classic Christmas Specials Collection, single-film SKUs of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Frosty the Snowman, and Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town, and Holiday Inn (1942) on 11/1/22, and 8 Mile on 11/8, all in 4K.
And while we’re on the topic of holiday 4K titles, we now have Amazon pre-order links for Warner’s National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, Elf, A Christmas Story, and The Polar Express as well. (Again, the artwork and links are available below.)
We’ve updated our 4K Ultra HD Release List here at The Bits with all of the information and Amazon links accordingly.
Finally today, we have some interesting Blu-ray release news as well, all of it from CBS and or Paramount... Star Trek: Strange New Worlds – Season One is available for pre-order on Amazon in both Blu-ray and BD Steelbook packaging (click here and here), but we don’t yet have a street date. Star Trek: Discovery – Season Four is also available for pre-order in both configurations (here and here), again with no street date. And Star Trek: Prodigy – Season One is also available for pre-order on Blu-ray (here), also not yet dated.
And here’s the big one: CBS and Paramount are releasing Frasier: The Complete Series on Blu-ray on 11/8. Here’s a look at the cover artwork (click here or on the image to visit the pre-order page)...
We’ll leave you with a look at the cover art for a number of the titles mentioned above, with Amazon links...
That’s all for today. Stay tuned!
