There are not likely to be any new special features, however you can reasonably expect all of the legacy extras to carry over.
Also, Kino Lorber Studio Classics has just officially revealed that they’re going to be working on a new 4K Ultra HD release of Fred Dekker’s The Monster Squad (1987)! And naturally, it will have a new Dolby Vision HDR master. It should be noted that this is a title released by Olive Films on Blu-ray back on 2013. Given that, and the fact that KLSC has also recently announced that they’re working on a 4K UHD of High Noon (1952), we think it likely that many of those previous Olive titles will be coming to either Blu-ray or 4K or both from Kino in the months ahead.
Back to Paramount for a moment: Look for South Park: The Complete Twenty-Sixth Season to arrive on Blu-ray on 9/12.
And here’s a big one: Paramount has just set Poker Face: Season One for release on Blu-ray and DVD on 9/12. You’ll get all 10 episodes but no extras.
Meanwhile, RLJE Film will release Yuval Adler’s Sympathy for the Devil (2023) on Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD on 9/26. The film stars Nicolas Cage and Joel Kinnaman (For All Mankind, The Suicide Squad).
Umbrella Entertainment has set Peter Weir’s The Last Wave (1977) for Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD release on 9/1. In addition to legacy extras, the release will include audio commentary with film critic Alexei Toliopoulos and filmmaker Travis Akbar on the 4K disc only.
And finally, our friend Bob Furmanek at The 3-D Film Archive has just announced that they’re working on a new restoration of George Marshall’s Money from Home (1953), which stars Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin. Here’s Bob himself to say more...
Good news indeed!
