We begin today with four more new Blu-ray Disc reviews for you to enjoy, including...

Tim’s take on Robert Altman’s The Long Goodbye (1973) from Kino Lorber Studio Classics, along with Lucio Fulci’s Demonia (1990) from Severin Films.

Stephen’s thoughts on Simon Wincer’s The Lighthorsemen (1987) from Umbrella Entertainment.

And Dennis’ look at Lewis Milestone’s Edge of Darkness (1943) from The Warner Archive Collection.

Moving on to release news today, Paramount has officially announced their 6/14 4K Steelbook re-release of Raiders of the Lost Ark (single-disc, same 4K disc as before with HDR10, Dolby Vision & Dolby Atmos, includes a Digital copy code and a mini-poster reproduction but no Blu-ray). But for those who might be wondering, the studio has also officially confirmed information we posted yesterday: The 4K Steelbooks of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom will follow on 7/12, with Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade set for 8/16, and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull rounding things out on 9/20. We’ve updated our 4K Ultra HD Release List here at The Bits accordingly. Here’s what the first one looks like…

Raiders of the Lost Ark (4K Ultra HD Steelbook)

The studio has also announced the first-ever Blu-ray release of Reginald Hudlin’s Boomerang (1992), starring Eddie Murphy, in honor of the film’s 30th anniversary. Extras will include audio commentary by the director and 5 deleted/extended scenes with optional commentary. Street date is 6/28. You can see the cover artwork below.

Also, Amazon.com is already showing an 8/9 street date for David Cronenberg’s forthcoming Crimes of the Future on Blu-ray from Neon. No word yet if a 4K Ultra HD release is planned, but (for the time being and unless/until they take it down) you can pre-order the Blu-ray now at this link.

In other standard Blu-ray news, The Film Detective is releasing The Tarzan Vault Collection on 2-disc BD on 8/23 (SRP $39.95), including Tarzan of the Apes (1918), Adventures of Tarzan (1921), and The New Adventures of Tarzan (1935), plus original essays for each feature, new audio commentary tracks and introductions, an archival interview with star Herman Brix (aka Bruce Bennett), and a featurette on Tarzan Comics as well as a new feature-length documentary both by Ballyhoo Motion Pictures.

Ronin Flix is releasing Michael Winner’s Death Wish 3 (1985) on Blu-ray on 8/23, along with The Delta Force (1986), Lone Wolf McQuade (1983) and Death Warrant (1990).

88 Films is releasing Cheng Kang and Hua Shan’s Hong Kong actioner Flying Guillotine: Part II (aka Palace Carnage, 1978) on Blu-ray on 8/9.

Arrow Video has set Chema García Ibarra’s The Sacred Spirit (2021) and Mark O’Brien’s The Righteous (2021) for Blu-ray release on 7/19.

ViaVision Entertainment has unveiled their June slate of titles, all due on 6/8, which is set to include Blood & Treasure: Season One (Blu-ray and DVD), Anger Management: Collection Two (DVD), Baywatch: Seasons 1-5 (DVD), Caroline in the City: The Complete Series (DVD), Wanted Dead or Alive: The Complete Series (DVD), Stingray: The Complete Series (DVD), and Heartbeat: Collection Four (DVD).

RLJE Films will release Mickey Keating’s Offseason (2021) on Blu-ray and DVD on 6/14, and Sean King O’Grady’s We Need to Do Something (2021) on Blu-ray and DVD on 6/16, followed by Brendan Muldowney’s The Cellar (2021) on both formats on 6/21.

Screen Media has set 9 Bullets (2022) for Blu-ray and DVD release on 6/7, starring Lena Heady and Sam Worthington.

Also, we’ve learned that Scream Factory’s 6/21 Blu-ray release of Fire in the Sky (1993) will be mastered from a new 4K scan of the original camera negative and will include a new interview with director Robert Lieberman along with legacy extras.

The Cinema Guild will release Hong Sangsoo’s Introduction (2021) on Blu-ray and DVD on 5/31.

If any of you are fans of Adult Swim’s animated Aqua Teen Hunger Force, a 20-disc Baffler Meal Complete Collection DVD release is officially coming on 7/12 to DVD only. The set will include all 140 episodes, the first theatrical film, and hours of special features. You can see the cover artwork below.

And finally, it’s looking (from retail sources) like the revised street date for Disney’s The Beatles: Get Back documentary on Blu-ray may be 7/12, but keep in mind this is still subject to change. You’ll recall the title was originally to have been released on 2/8, but was recalled due to an issue with the audio.

We’ll leave you with a look at the covers for a few of the titles mentioned above, with Amazon.com pre-order links if available...

Raiders of the Lost Ark (4K Ultra HD Steelbook) Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (4K Ultra HD Steelbook) Aqua Teen Hunger Force: The Complete Series (DVD)

The Tarzan Vault Collection (Blu-ray Disc) Boomerang (Blu-ray Disc) The Delta Force (Blu-ray Disc)

As always, stay tuned...!
