Meanwhile, Fox’s X-Files: The Event Series (aka Season 10) is now available for pre-order on Amazon on Blu-ray and DVD. No street date is yet available, and there’s no word yet on extras, but I suspect the title will be officially announced sometime this week. The final episode of the series’ broadcast run airs on Fox tonight. Meanwhile, here’s the official cover artwork (see above and below).
Speaking of The X-Files, a number of you have asked if there’s going to be a way to identify the corrected Season 8 Blu-rays in stores. There may be, eventually, but for the time being 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment is recommending that people simply purchase the existing sets and then go through the exchange process (see the instructions at the end of our review). It’s easy and fast – the fixed discs are already shipping out to people ahead of schedule. Likely the corrected discs aren’t going to be in stores until current stocks sell out and the title get re-solicited to retailers. So there you go.
In other news today, Lionsgate has set the CG animated kids title Norm of the North for Blu-ray release on 4/19, with a digital release due on 3/29.
Scream Factory has set Narcopolis for Blu-ray and DVD release on 3/1. They’ve also set Sharkansas Women’s Prison Massacre for Blu-ray, DVD, and digital on 5/3.
The Wasteland and Escape from the Insane Asylum are coming to DVD only on 3/8 from Massacre Video and Vinegar Syndrome.
And BBC Home Entertainment will release Frankenstein, starring Helen McCrory, on DVD only on 3/8.
Here’s a look at some Blu-ray cover artwork, including The X-Files: The Event Series and the Top Gun: 30th Anniversary Limited Edition. (We’ll add the pre-order link for Top Gun as soon as it’s live)...
Stay tuned...
