Now then... there are a couple of big title announcements to report today...

First up, Paramount has finally announced the 2/11 debut of Martin Scorsese’s Shutter Island on physical 4K Ultra HD here in the States. Yes, that’s right... an actual disc! And the 4K will be available in limited edition Steelbook packaging too no less. The release is timed to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the film’s original release. Extras will include 2 featurettes (Behind the Shutters and Into the Lighthouse). [Editor’s note: We’ve confirmed with the studio that it’s got Dolby Vision HDR and 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio.]

Shutter Island (Steelbook 4K Ultra HD) Cotton Club Encore (Blu-ray Disc)

Also today, Lionsgate has just announced the Blu-ray and DVD release of Francis Ford Coppola’s The Cotton Club Encore: 35th Anniversary Edition on 12/10. Unfortunately, the 4K edition is Digital only at this time. Extras will include an introduction by the director and The Cotton Club Encore Q&A featurette.

All right, that’s all for now. We have reviews coming for the next couple of days here at The Bits, so be sure to check back as you’re traveling to see family this Thanksgiving week. And for those of you who are traveling, safe journey!

Stay tuned...
