In announcement news today, 20th Century Fox has set The November Man for Blu-ray and DVD release on 11/15. The films stars Pierce Brosnan. That’s followed by the Fox Searchlight titles Calvary and I Origins on 12/9. The November Man seems to have no extras. Calvary will include 4 featurettes (Behind the Scenes, The Role of a Good Priest, A Matter of Faith, and A Father & His Daughter). I Origins will include deleted scenes, 2 featurettes (A Window to the Soul and The Origins of Connectedness), an image gallery, and the film’s trailer.
Fox has also set The Simpsons: The Seventeenth Season for 3-disc Blu-ray release on 12/2 (SRP $59.99).
Here’s something for fans of director James Cameron… no, not The Abyss and True Lies sadly, but Millennium Entertainment has announced the Blu-ray 3D release of James Cameron’s Deepsea Challenge 3D on 11/11. There will be a Blu-ray 3D Combo and a single disc DVD versions available (SRP $24.99 each).
Meanwhile, Anchor Bay and The Weinstein Company have set Frank Miller’s Sin City: A Dame to Kill For for release on Blu-ray 3D Combo and DVD on 11/18 (SRP $39.99 and $29.98).
Paramount has officially set Richard Linklater’s Boyhood for release on Blu-ray and DVD on 1/6/15.
And finally, Cinedigm has set the anime title Welcome to the Space Show for release on Blu-ray and DVD on 11/11. I’m kind of looking forward to this one. I’ve heard it described as ‘Ghibli-esque.’
Speaking of Studio Ghibli, the studio’s latest animated feature film, The Tale of The Princess Kaguya, is going to start its limited run in theaters in the U.S. on Friday (10/17). It’s supposedly director Isao Takahata last film and has been getting very strong reviews thus far.
All right, here’s a whole bunch of cover artwork (with Amazon pre-order links if available) for the titles mentioned above, along with the just released final artwork for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles...
Stay tuned...
