Also today, Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment is releasing Ben Affleck’s Amazon Studios Nike/Michael Jordan film Air (2023) on Blu-ray and DVD on 9/12. The film stars Affleck, Matt Damon, Jason Bateman, Marlon Wayans, Chris Messina, Chris Tucker, and Viola Davis.
20th Century Studios has announced Rob Savage’s The Boogeyman (2023) for Blu-ray and DVD release on 10/10, with the Digital release expected on 8/29. Extras will include the Into the Darkness featurette and outtakes.
You may recall that we talked a few weeks ago about a new 4K restoration of Irving Cumming’s The Johnstown Flood (1926), which is being shepherded by our friends Robert A. Harris and James Mockoski in association with the George Eastman Museum. Well, it’s now set for release on Blu-ray on 10/17 from Allied Vaughn. You can see the cover art below.
Criterion has announced the first wave of a new line of Janus Contemporaries film titles for release on Blu-ray on 10/17, including Louis Garrel’s The Innocent, Jerzy Skolimowski’s EO, and Jafar Panahi’s No Bears. Other titles coming in 2023 include Hlynur Pálmason’s Godland, Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne’s Tori and Lokita, and Felix van Groeningen and Charlotte Vandermeersch’s The Eight Mountains.
Per retail sources, Universal is preparing Tommy Wirkola’s Violent Night (2022) for 4K Ultra HD release later this year.
Paramount is working on a new 4K UHD release of Gary Fleder’s Kiss the Girls (1997) for release on 9/12.
Screen Media will release Eastwood Allen and Chris Griffiths’ Robodoc: The Creation of Robocop on Blu-ray on 10/17.
Lionsgate has set Confidential Informant for Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital release on 8/15, with Past Lives following on all three formats on 9/19.
And Mubi is apparently releasing Park Chan-wook’s Decision to Leave (2022) on 4K Ultra HD on 10/3. Note that the title is already available on regular Blu-ray.
