Now then... the big release news today is that Lionsgate has just set John Wick: Chapter 2 for release on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD on 6/13. We’ll post additional details as they come in.
Meanwhile, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has set Hark Tsui’s Journey to the West: The Demons Strike Back for Blu-ray and DVD release on 6/6.
HBO is re-releasing Game of Thrones: The Complete First Season, Second Season, and Third Season on Blu-ray on 6/27 (SRP $59.99 each), timed to coincide with the broadcast debut of the 7-episode Season Seven on HBO on 7/16.
Warner Bros Home Entertainment has set Pretty Little Liars: The Seventh and Final Season for DVD-only release on 7/25.
Arrow Video is releasing the new 4K-restoration of Dario Argento’s The Bird With The Crystal Plumage on Blu-ray and DVD in the U.K. on 6/19.
Kino Lorber has announced more new Studio Classics titles that it’s working on. All of these titles are coming soon to Blu-ray and DVD: Portrait of Jennie (1948), Cease Fire! (1953 – 3D/2D), Silkwood (1983), and It’s the Old Army Game (1926 – the W.C. Fields film from a new 2K scan). Also newly announced to be coming in June are Blu-ray and anamorphic DVDs double features of Gerry Anderson’s Thunderbirds Are Go (1966) and Thunderbird 6 (1968) with lots of extras. Nice.
Twilight Time has confirmed the details of their April Blu-ray release slate, all due on 4/18 (with pre-orders opening on 4/5), set to include Woody Allen’s Another Woman (1988 – with an isolated music track and the theatrical trailer), Billy Wilder’s The Fortune Cookie (1966 – with an isolated music track and the theatrical trailer), William Wyler’s How to Steal a Million (1966 – with an isolated music track, audio commentary with actors Eli Wallach and Catherine Wyler, the Audrey Hepburn: The Fairest Lady featurette, and the theatrical trailer), and You’ll Never Get Rich (1941 – with an isolated music and effects track and the theatrical trailer). Each is a limited edition of 3,000 units and will be available for pre-order on Screen Archives Entertainment and the Twilight Time Movies website.
And finally, the Film Detective has set Manuel Cano’s Voodoo Black Exorcist (1975) for Blu-ray release on 5/23.
