All right, today’s Oktoberfest Giveaway kicks off at Noon (Pacific) over on the Jahnke’s Electric Theater Facebook page, and features Scream Factory’s Terror Train on Blu-ray.  So head on over there for your chance to win.

Here at the site today, Adam’s Hell Plaza Oktoberfest review for the day is Universal’s The Purge, which just arrived in stores on Blu-ray on last week.  Also, Tim has checked in this morning with a review of René Clair’s I Married a Witch, now available on Blu-ray from Criterion.

Speaking of which, be sure to check out last night’s announcement news on Criterion’s January Blu-ray and DVD release slate, which includes a number of great titles.  [Read on here...]

And in announcement news this morning, Warner Home Video has revealed the extras that you’ll find on the recently-revealed Million Dollar Baby: 10th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray, due on 2/4/14 (SRP $19.98).  You’ll get new audio commentary by producer Albert Ruddy, the new Million Dollar Baby: On the Ropes featurette that includes interviews with Clint Eastwood, Morgan Freeman and Hilary Swank, plus all the features from the previous BD release.  You’ll find the cover artwork below.

Warner has also set Two Weeks Notice and City of Angels for release on Blu-ray for the first time on 2/4 (SRP $19.98 each).

The studio is releasing the restored documentary John F. Kennedy: Years of Lightning, Day of Drums on DVD only on 11/12 (SRP $11.97).  The documentary will also be included in the JFK: 50 Year Commemorative Ultimate Collector’s Edition Blu-ray box set coming the same day (SRP $59.99).

And finally this morning, Universal has officially set Kick-Ass 2 for Blu-ray and DVD release on 12/17.  Both versions will include extended scenes, 3 featurettes (Upping the Game, Going Ballistic: Weapons & Stunts and Creating a Badass World), along with audio commentary by Taylor-Johnson, Chloë Grace Moretz, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and director Jeff Wadlow.  To this, the Blu-ray will exclusively add an alternate opening with commentary by Wadlow and 4 more featurettes (Big Daddy Returns: The Unshot Scene, An Ass-Kicking Cast, Street Rules: Showdown at the Evil Lair and Hit Girl Attacks: Creating the Van Sequence).

Here’s a look at the Blu-ray cover art for Warner’s Million Dollar Baby: 10th Anniversary Edition, temp art for Universal’s Kick Ass 2 and Anchor Bay’s Jayne Mansfield’s Car (due 12/10)...
