Here at the site today, Tim’s got another new Blu-ray review for you: A look at The Lawnmower Man: Collector’s Edition from Scream Factory. The disc includes both versions of the film plus some very nice extras, so do give it a look.

In announcement news today, Warner Bros Home Entertainment has just unveiled their new Hanna-Barbera Diamond Collection line of DVD and digital releases, set to include a wave of “over 70 seasons of the most popular animated titles of the 50s, 60s and 70s, many of which have not been released on DVD and digital until now.” Some of these rebranded DVD packages have been available previously, including the likes of The Flintstones, The Jetsons, Scooby-Doo, and Yogi Bear, with more set to come through December of this year. All of this is being done to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of William Hanna and Joseph Barbera’s iconic animation studio. Lionsgate and Starz have announced Black Sails: The Complete Fourth Season for release on Blu-ray and DVD on 8/29.

Severin Films has set Joe D’Amato’s Beyond the Darkness for release on Blu-ray and DVD on 7/25. The first 2500 copies will also include Gobin’s newly-remastered CD soundtrack for the film.

Well Go USA is bringing With Great Power: The Stan Lee Story back to digital and DVD on 7/18.

BrinkVision has announced the Don’t Look in the Basement Collection for Blu-ray release on 7/11, including the original 1973 cult classic Don’t Look in the Basement and its sequel Don’t Look in the Basement 2. Extras will include audio commentary by Tony Brownrigg (son of the late S.F. Brownrigg) on both films, as well as a featurette.

Virgil Films will release the documentary Facing Darkness on DVD and digital on 7/25.

And here’s a nice surprise: VCI Entertainment has revealed that they’re working on Norman Z. McLeod’s Topper (1937) for release on Blu-ray on 10/31. The film stars Cary Grant.

That’s all for now. Stay tuned...
