The big news today is that The Criterion Collection has just announced their July release slate, as follows...

Look for Bong Joon Ho’s Okja (2017 – Spine #1133 – 4K, Blu-ray, and DVD) and Sofia Coppola’s The Virgin Suicides (1999 – Spine #920 – 4K, Blu-ray, and DVD) on 7/5.

David Lean’s Summertime (1955 – Spine #22 – Blu-ray and DVD) and Martin Scorsese’s Raging Bull (Spine #1134 – 4K and Blu-ray) on 7/12.

And Ryusuke Hamaguchi’s Drive My Car (2021 – Spine #1136 – Blu-ray and DVD) and Carl Franklin’s Devil in a Blue Dress (1995 – Spine #1135 – 4K and Blu-ray) on 7/19.

In other 4K Ultra HD news, this isn’t yet official but retail sources are telling us that Lionsgate is likely to release Everything Everywhere All at Once on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD on 7/14.

Paramount should have Sonic the Hedgehog 2 coming on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K UHD on 8/9.

Universal Studios Home Entertainment has tentatively penciled Downton Abbey: A New Era for Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K on 7/5.

And Warner Bros. Home Entertainment is expected to release Edge of Tomorrow on 4K Ultra HD on 7/5 as well.

We’ve updated our 4K Ultra HD Release List and Criterion Spines Project Pages here at The Bits with all of the above titles accordingly.

Also today, on the regular Blu-ray front, Paramount has officially announced Grease 2 for release as a 40th Anniversary Limited Edition Steelbook Blu-ray on 6/7.

Warner has announced Curb Your Enthusiasm: The Complete Eleventh Season for DVD only release on 6/14.

And Lionsgate has set MacGyver: The Complete Series (Seasons 1-5) for DVD only release on 6/14. Do keep in mind, this is the reboot series.

One last note: Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has delayed their previously-announced Blu-ray and DVD release of The Boys: Seasons 1 & 2 Collection from 5/17 to 5/31. Adjust your plans accordingly.

We’ll leave you with a look at the cover artwork for all of Criterion’s July slate. We’ll add Amazon.com pre-order links as soon as they become available...
