Extras will include a trio of behind-the-scenes-featurettes (A New Vision of Horror, Bringing Life to M3GAN, and Getting Hacked). You can see the cover artwork above left and also below.
Also today, Shout! and Scream Factory have announced the details on their forthcoming 4K Ultra HD release of The Exorcist III, which is set to street on 3/28. The 3-disc set will include the Theatrical Cut freshly-remastered from a new 4K scan of the original camera negative with Dolby Vision HDR, and a new 2023 restoration of both the stereo and 5.1 sound mixes in DTS-HD Master Audio.
The Blu-ray version will include a deleted scene, alternate takes, bloopers, a deleted prologue, vintage interviews with writer/director William Peter Blatty, George C. Scott, Jason Miller, Ed Flanders, and more, a vintage featurette, theatrical trailers, radio and TV spots, and photo galleries.
Another Blu-ray in the package will include Legion (the Director’s Cut) “assembled from the interpositive and select scenes from the VHS dallies” and approved by Blatty, along with an audio interview with Blatty, and the Death, Be Not Proud: The Making of The Exorcist III feature-length documentary. You’ll find that cover artwork below as well.
Also today, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release Marc Forster’s A Man Called Otto (2022) on Blu-ray and DVD on 3/14.
Curzon Film in the UK has informed us that they’ve pushed back their planned 4K Ultra HD release of Krzysztof Kieślowski’s Three Colors Trilogy and The Double Life of Veronique from the original 4/3 date to 4/17. Adjust your plans accordingly.
And finally today, Zavvi briefly leaked the cover artwork for a UK-only version of Warner’s planned Superman: 5-Film Collection 4K box set in Steelbook packaging this morning. This is set to street on 4/17 in the UK. If there is a US 4K Steelbook version planned, it will almost certainly be a retailer exclusive when it streets on 4/18. But we’ll have to wait for the official announcement to know for sure. We expect the wait won’t be long, however, because though Zavvi quickly “disappeared” the page not long after it went up, the text indicated that pre-orders will begin on Monday. That strongly suggests that Warner’s planned announcement is dropping then. So be sure to check back with us on Monday, because we will obviously post all the official details when they become available. In the meantime, here’s what the Steelbook box set looks like...
And that’s all for today. We’ll leave you with a look at the cover art for three of the titles mentioned above (click on each to visit the relevant Amazon pre-order pages)...
Have a great weekend and stay tuned!
