We also have a bit of release news from Scream: They’ve announced the extras you’ll find on The Vincent Price Collection III, which is due on 2/23. Master of the World (1.85:1 & 2.0 stereo DTS-HD MA) will include a new audio commentary with actor David Frankham, the new Richard Matheson: Storyteller: Extended Cut documentary (72 minutes), the theatrical trailer, a gallery of poster art, lobby cards, and production photos, and a gallery of images from David Frankham’s personal collection. Tower of London (1.66:1 & 2.0 mono DTS-HD MA) will include a new interview with director Roger Corman, the Producing Tower of London featurette, 2 SD episodes of Science Fiction Theatre (One Thousand Eyes and Operation Flypaper, both starring Vincent Price), and a gallery of poster art, lobby cards, and production photos. Diary of a Madman (1.66:1 & 2.0 mono DTS-HD MA) is movie-only. An Evening of Edgar Allen Poe (1.33:1 & 2.0 mono DTS-HD MA) will include new audio commentary with film historian and author Steve Haberman on both features, a new interview with writer/producer/director Kenneth Johnson, the trailer for Diary of a Madman, a gallery of poster and lobby card art, and a behind the scenes photo gallery. And Cry of the Banshee (1.85:1 & 2.0 mono DTS-HD MA) includes both the 91 minute director’s cut and the 87 minute theatrical version, a new audio commentary by film historian Steve Haberman, the A Devilish Tale of Poe interview with director Gordon Hessler, the theatrical trailer, TV and radio spots, and a gallery of poster art, lobby cards and behind the scenes photos.
Meanwhile, Kino Lorber has revealed the extras you’ll find on their DePatie-Freleng animated Blu-rays (due on 4/26) including The Inspector, The Ant and the Aardvark, and Crazylegs Crane. There will be 2 documentaries that appear on all three titles, including Goodbye Warner Bros. Hello DePatie-Freleng and Of Aardvarks, Ants, Inspectors and Cranes. Each disc will also include audio commentaries by Friz Freleng (compiled from archival interviews), filmmaker Greg Ford, author Mark Arnold, and animation historian Jerry Beck, along with reversible Blu-ray cover art featuring new sketches by the original animator/designer, Art Leonardi. All shorts are in their original 1.33:1 aspect ratio.
In other news, Universal has officially announced The Danish Girl for Blu-ray and DVD release on 3/1, with a digital HD release due on 2/16. Extras will include The Making of The Danish Girl featurette.
Universal has also set Steve Jobs for Blu-ray and DVD release on 2/16, with digital HD due on 2/2. Extras there include the Inside Jobs: The Making of Steve Jobs featurette, audio commentary by director Danny Boyle, and a second audio commentary with writer Aaron Sorkin and editor Elliot Graham.
And 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment has set Archer: Season 6 for Blu-ray and DVD release on 3/29.
