Weinstein’s Grandmaster on 3/4, plus another Rumor Mill update & Enterprise: S3 BD review

Okay, we’ve got a couple more good things for you today…

First up, in case you missed it yesterday, I posted my review of CBS’ Star Trek: Enterprise – Season Three on Blu-ray Disc last night.  If you’re a fan of the series, it’s another excellent release, loaded with new bonus content.  Don’t miss it.  [Read on here…]

Also today, we’ve updated The Rumor Mill once more with a quick additional update on Twin Peaks, as well as new (unofficial) word on Fox’s True Lies, The Abyss and The X-Files, as well as Shout! Factory’s Pee-Wee’s Playhouse.  There’s also word of a great BD/DVD podcast you might want to check out.

And in new announcement news, Anchor Bay and The Weinstein Company have set Wong Kar Wai’s The Grandmaster for Blu-ray and DVD release on 3/4 (SRP $29.99 and $24.99).  This is a 108-minute version of the film, which means it’s been edited.  There are apparently three versions of the film (a 130-minute Chinese cut, a 123-minute Berlin Film Festival cut and this – each version apparently has scenes unique to that cut).  Still, I suspect many fans are going to import the Chinese version rather than settle for a 22-minute shorter version.  Extras on the Weinstein BD release will include 3 featurettes (From Ip Man to Bruce Lee, A Conversation with Shannon Lee (Daughter of Bruce Lee), According to RZA and Behind the Scenes).

We’ll leave you with a look at the Blu-ray cover art for The Grandmaster, along with Universal’s An American Tail (due 3/4) and Scream’s Darkman: Collector’s Edition (2/18)…

The Grandmaster (Blu-ray Disc)    An American Tail (Blu-ray Disc)    Darkman: Collector's Edition (Blu-ray Disc)

Stay tuned…
