Also newly available for pre-order on Amazon is Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan: The Final Season in 4K Ultra HD on 4/16, the same day as the Blu-ray version. You can see that cover art below as well.

In terms of new announcements this afternoon, we’ve learned that Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment is planning to release Tim Burton’s Batman (1989) in 4K Ultra HD Steelbook format on 5/28. This looks to be the same Steelbook art that was released previously in Europe, but it’s available here in the States for the first time.

WBDHE will also release an Amaray version of Clint Eastwood’s American Sniper (2014) in 4K Ultra HD on 5/14, the same day as the previously-revealed Steelbook version.

Lionsgate has announced Tibot Takacs’ The Gate (1986) for release on Blu-ray Steelbook on 5/14. Also coming that day to Blu-ray Steelbook is Ken Russell’s The Lair of the White Worm (1988). Both are Walmart exclusives.

Capelight Pictures will release Lee Sang-yong’s The Roundup: No Way Up (2023) on 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray combo on 4/9.

Kino Lorber Studio Classics has revealed that Abel Ferrara’s Bad Lieutenant (1992) is coming to 4K Ultra HD on 5/21. That same day, the company will also release a 3-film Sci-Fi Chillers Collection box set of classic Paramount titles, which will include Eugène Lourié’s The Unknown Terror (1957) and The Colossus of New York (1958), as well as Francis D. Lyon’s Destination Inner Space (1966) all on Blu-ray.

And while we’re talking Paramount, we’re hearing there’s a good chance that Dean Parisot’s Galaxy Quest (1999) may finally be released in 4K Ultra HD before the end of the year. The film celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2024, so this makes perfect sense. Consider that Rumor Mill-worthy for now, but we’ve added it to our 4K Ultra HD Release List here at The Bits nonetheless.

Finally today, 20th Century Studios has just released the first teaser trailer for Fede Álvarez’s Alien: Romulus (2024). And I’ll be damned if it doesn’t look pretty damn great! This is a sequel to Ridley Scott’s original Alien (1979), which is set between the events of that film and James Cameron’s Aliens (1986). And judging by the teaser, it sure looks like Álvarez has nailed the look, feel, and tone of that universe. The film arrives in theaters on August 16th, which feels like way too damn long to wait. But here’s a look at the teaser in the meantime...
