The Digital Bits and History, Legacy & Showmanship are pleased to present this retrospective commemorating the 40th anniversary of the release of Star Trek: The Motion Picture, the first big-screen adventure based upon Gene Roddenberry’s legendary 1960s television series with William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy and DeForest Kelley reprising the roles that made them famous of Kirk, Spock and McCoy, respectively.
Directed by Robert Wise (West Side Story, The Sound of Music), the film also reunited James Doohan as Scotty, George Takei as Sulu, Majel Barrett as Dr. Chapel, Walter Koenig as Chekov, and Nichelle Nichols as Uhura, and also featured Persis Khambatta as Ilia and Stephen Collins as Decker. Blu-ray News – Avengers: Age of Ultron official for 10/2, plus Entourage, Airwolf (UK only), UHD BD 3D follow-up & more

The big news today is that Disney and Marvel have now officially set Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron for Blu-ray 3D Combo, Blu-ray Combo and DVD release on 10/2, with the digital release expected on 9/8. Extras on the Blu-ray seem to still be TBA, but are expected to include audio commentary, deleted scenes, a series or “making of” featurettes, and a gag reel. Lionsgate has just set A Most Wanted Man for Blu-ray and DVD release on 11/4 (SRP $29.99 and $26.98), with a digital release on 10/28. Extras will include a pair of featurettes (The Making of A Most Wanted Man and Spymaster: John le Carré in Hamburg). [Read on here…]
