Anyway, all of this is a long winded way of saying that if you get a friend request from someone named “Bill Hunt” or “Sarah Hunt” in the next week or so – or if you have in the late 24 hours – it’s not us. Report them as fakes.
Ugh.
Seriously, I’d like to meet Mark Zuckerberg one day and give him a piece of my mind. Or punch him in the face.
When you think about it, it makes perfect sense that Russian hackers were able to have a field day on Facebook in 2016. THERE IS LITERALLY NO ONE AT FACEBOOK WATCHING OUT FOR ACTUAL USERS. Their system is being gamed, EVERY DAY, by hackers and scammers, and Facebook seems to be helpless to do anything about it at all.
Anyway, my apologies, but my posts here may be a little few and far between this week as I deal with this problem.
In the meantime, Tim and the rest of our staffers will be posting reviews here at the site.
And we do have one piece of good 4K news for you. Remember how we first broke the news – back on March 14 – that Francis Ford Coppola’s Apocalypse Now was coming to 4K Ultra HD from Lionsgate in August? Well, now it’s (basically) official.
Lionsgate will be releasing Apocalypse Now: Final Cut – 40th Anniversary Edition on 4K Ultra HD on 8/27, following special giant screen showings on 8/15. The package includes a 4K disc, 3 Blu-rays, and a Digital Copy. We assume the Final Cut will be on 4K, while you’ll also get Apocalypse Now, Apocalypse Now: Redux, and the Hearts of Darkness documentary on Blu-ray. You can see the cover artwork here…
The Final Cut version apparently showed at the Tribeca Film Festival last night in NYC and you can read the report here. The upshot is, the film looks great. The 4K disc will feature both Dolby Atmos audio and Dolby Vision HDR. Note that we don’t yet have specs or any other details yet (before you ask) but we’ll post them here as soon as we do. You can see the trailer here...
That’s all for now. Back as soon as I can.
Stay tuned… (and wish me luck with this Facebook bullshit).
