Big Lebowski 4K, Spy Who Dumped Me, Star Trek: Discovery – Season One preorders & more
All right, we’re closing out the week with just a couple of items for you…
First up, we’ve posted a trio of new reviews for you including Tim’s look at Stuart Gordon’s Dagon from Umbrella Entertainment, David’s take on Harry Levin’s Genghis Khan (1965) from Twilight Time, and Dennis’ thoughts on Dark Crimes from Lionsgate, all three on Blu-ray.
We now have official final cover artwork for Universal’s The Big Lebowski on 4K Ultra HD. It’s due on 10/16 and it will feature a native 4K scan of the film with DTS-X object based audio. It will also include the previous Blu-ray edition, with all its extras, and a digital copy. You can pre-order it now on Amazon by clicking on the artwork below.
Side note about Universal… the company appears to be reissuing a whole bunch of catalog titles on Blu-ray throughout the month of October. Deep catalog stuff. So if you’ve missed any titles, you’ll probably find that a new edition is coming then. [Read on here...]

The Big Lebowski & Jurassic World 5-Film set coming to 4K, plus new Kino & Shout/Scream titles
All right, let’s have a quick update with more breaking release news…
Many months after we first told you it was coming, Universal is finally bringing The Big Lebowski to 4K Ultra HD on 10/16, with both regular and limited editions available (the latter can be seen below, packed with swag). We’re awaiting the official announcement, but both are now listed for pre-order on Amazon.com (click here and here to see them).
Also, the studio is releasing a Jurassic World: 5-Film Collection on 4K Ultra HD on 9/18, day and date with the home video release of Jurassic Park: Fallen Kingdom on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K. So those of you who waited to pick up all the earlier films in 4K hoping for a 5-film box, now’s your chance. You can see the cover art art right and you can pre-order it here.

Sony sets Fraggle Rock: The Complete Series for release on Blu-ray on 9/25, plus Le Grande Lebowski in 4K
Yes, it’s true! We revealed this on social media last night and it caused quite a stir!
Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has officially announced the 9/25 release of Fraggle Rock: The Complete Series on Blu-ray and DVD in honor of the series’ 35th anniversary.
Fraggle Rock: The Complete Series will feature all 96 episodes remastered in high definition on 12 Blu-ray Discs with lossless audio.
All-new extras will include an interactive Fraggle Music Celebration that allows you to sing along to every episode, the Life on Set: Moments with Jim Henson featurette, and a 1993 Today Show segment featuring Uncle Travelling Matt. [Read on here...]
Predator Trilogy 4K, plus The First Purge, Get Shorty, a 4K update, new Uni catalog & more
All right, we’ve got a couple of announcements today...
First up, Kino Lorber has added William Friedkin’s Good Times (1967) to its upcoming Blu-ray and DVD release slate. Look for the title to join their Studio Classics line on 9/25. They also have The Trip to Bountiful (1985) coming to Blu-ray and DVD the same day.
Shout! Factory has just revealed that Get Shorty (1995) is coming to Blu-ray as a Shout Select Collector’s Edition in October. Extras are TBA.
Retail sources are reporting that Universal’s The Big Lebowski 4K Ultra HD has shifted to October from July, with Ridley Scott’s Robin Hood now set for September. We’ll see. In any case, we’ve updated our 4K Ultra HD Release List here at The Bits accordingly. [Read on here...]

Still... our sources tell us that Universal is currently preparing to bring Jurassic Park, Jurassic Park: The Lost World, Jurassic Park III, and Jurassic World to 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray this summer, in anticipation of the June theatrical (and later home video) release of the new Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. To start… 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment has just officially announced Kingsman: The Golden Circle for release on all three disc formats on 12/12, confirming information we’ve posted based on retail sources. Extras on both Blu-ray versions will include the 9-part Kingsman: Inside the Golden Circle documentary (which includes Distilling the Story: Kingsman Returns, Trafficker, Tailor, Southerner, Spy, Poppy’s Special Guest: Elton John, Nefarious Lairs & High-Falutin’ Headquarters, Suited and Booted, Weapons of Choice, Brothers in Arms, Doomsday Protocol: Visual Effects, and End Game), the Black Cab Chaos: Anatomy of a Killer Chase featurette, and the Kingsman Archives gallery of concept art and still photos. Note that the 4K disc will also include Dolby Atmos audio. That same day, you’ll also be able to get the Kingsman: 2-Movie Collection on both Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD, which will package The Golden Circle with Kingman: The Secret Service.
