Afternoon, folks! Hope you all had a good Halloween weekend.

We’re got some more new disc reviews for you today, starting with the one I posted yesterday: My in-depth look at the Universal Classic Monsters: Icons of Horror Collection, which features Dracula (1931), Frankenstein (1931), The Invisible Man (1933), and The Wolf Man (1941), along with the Spanish version of Drácula (1931) all in 4K Ultra HD. The set is definitely worth a look for fans of the characters.

Also today, Stephen has reviewed John Huston’s Freud (1962) on Blu-ray from Kino Lorber Studio Classics.

And Dennis has delivered a look at Arthur Lubin’s The Spider Woman Strikes Back (1946) also on Blu-ray from Kino Lorber Studio Classics.

More reviews are coming over the course of the week, so be sure to check back for them. [Read on here...]

Now then, in announcement news, Shout! Factory has just announced some of its January release slate, which is set to include a regular edition of Makoto Shinkai’s Weathering with You (for GKids) on 4K Ultra HD on 1/4/22 (they’ve previously released a Limited Edition on the format), followed by The Temp and Whispers in the Dark on Blu-ray on 1/11, The Grateful Dead Movie on Blu-ray and The Grateful Dead: All The Years Combine – The DVD Collection on DVD on 1/14, the Liar Liar: 25th Anniversary Edition – Shout Select and The Awakener on Blu-ray on 1/18, and finally Moffie on Blu-ray on 1/25. No doubt additional titles will be added in the weeks ahead.

Also today, Kino Lorber Studio Classics has revealed that they’re working on a 4K Ultra HD release of Brian De Palma’s Dressed to Kill (1980) for release early in 2022. The disc will feature Dolby Vision HDR in a new 4K OCN scan and restoration supervised by De Palma himself.

Our old friend Robert Meyer Burnett has informed us that the dance-themed dramedy he recently produced, Tango Shalom (directed by Gabriel Bologna) is now available on DVD and VOD Digital. And Rob is working to make a Blu-ray release happen at some point as well. In the meantime, you can order the DVD by clicking here or on the cover artwork below.

Finally this afternoon, a trio of big upcoming Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD titles are now available for pre-order on Amazon, including Marvel and Disney’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (street date 11/30), Marvel and Sony’s Venom: Let There Be Carnage (street date 12/14), and Discotek Media’s Robot Carnival (street date 12/28/21). Here’s a look at the cover artwork for each of them, with the pre-order links...

Robot Carnival (4K Ultra HD) Venom: Let There Be Carnage (4K Ultra HD) Venom: Let There Be Carnage (Blu-ray Disc)

And that’s all for today!
