The disc SKUs will include both the Theatrical Cut and a new Extended Cut that features about 3 more minutes of footage. All versions will be framed at the side-matted 1.66:1 aspect ratio, just as the film was seen in theaters. Extras will include the 7-part Nosferatu: A Modern Masterpiece making of documentary, 3 deleted scenes, and audio commentary with the director. The 4K will feature Dolby Vision HDR, while the Blu-ray and 4K will both include Dolby Atmos audio. You can see the cover artwork below.
Also today, Paramount has set Jeff Fowler’s Sonic the Hedgehog 3 for Blu-ray, DVD, 4K Ultra HD, and 4K Steelbook on 4/15. The 4K SKU will include Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos audio. The Digital version is available as of today. Extras will include commentary by filmmaker and actor Ben Schwartz (the voice of Sonic), 9 featurettes, deleted scenes, and a gag reel.
Our friends at Kino Lorber Studio Classics have set Gabrielle Beaumont’s Godsend (1979) for Blu-ray release on 3/18 via their Kino Cult, along with Mark L. Lester’s Bobbie Jo and the Outlaw (1976) on 3/25. And newly-announced as coming soon to Blu-ray from KLSC are Brian Levant’s Beethoven (1992) and George Marshall’s Hold That Blonde! (1945).
And Discotek has just announced a new 2k scan, restoration, and Blu-ray release of Hideki Takayama’s Urotsukidoji: Legend of the Overfiend (1989), mastered from one of the last known uncut 35mm prints from a private collection. The result is reportedly coming soon to Blu-ray, a disc that will also include OVA 1-3 (OVA will be SD only), extensive liner notes, a trailer and promo collection, original credit rolls, and an animatic sequence.
Umbrella Entertainment has set Tarsem Singh’s The Fall (2006) and Banjong Pisanthanakun and Parkpoom Wongpoom’s Shutter (2004) for 4K Ultra HD release on 5/7. Each will feature encoding by Fidelity in Motion. The specific HDR and audio formats are TBA.
