In announcement news today, Paramount has now officially set John Krasinski’s A Quiet Place for release on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD on 7/10, with the Digital release expected on 6/26. The Blu-ray and 4K SKUs will include Dolby Atmos audio, while the 4K will add Dolby Vision HDR. Extras on the Blu-rays will include a trio of featurettes (Creating the Quiet: Behind the Scenes of A Quiet Place, The Sound of Darkness: Editing Sound for A Quiet Place, and A Reason for Silence: The Visual Effects of A Quiet Place). Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has set Rampage for release on Blu-ray, Blu-ray 3D, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD on 7/17, with the Digital release due on 6/26. Apparently, all the Blu-ray SKUs will feature Dolby Atmos audio, while the 4K will add Dolby Vision HDR. Extras on the Blu-rays will include Deleted Scenes, a Gag Reel, and 5 featurettes (Not a Game Anymore, Rampage, Trio of Destruction, Attack on Chicago, and Bringing George to Life). And Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has also set a Bad Boys 1 & 2 Collection for release on 4K Ultra HD on 9/4. The 4-disc box set will include each remastered film on 4K restored from the original camera negatives with HDR10 and Dolby Atmos audio. You’ll also get both films on Blu-ray as well, with all of their existing bonus material. You can see the cover artwork below. By the way, it’s looking like the information we got from Best Buy sources was wrong – The Incredibles 4K is still set to street this coming Tuesday on 6/5. Just FYI.
In other release news... Warner Bros. Home Entertainment is also releasing Lucifer: The Complete Third Season on DVD on 8/28, with the Blu-ray due from the Warner Archive. And Gotham: The Complete Fourth Season streets on both Blu-ray and DVD on 8/21 from Warner.
For UK readers (and those with all-region players) Eureka! is releasing Paul Verhoeven’s Flesh + Blood on Blu-ray/DVD Combo in the UK on 8/6.
Here’s something awesome: Eureka is also releasing a Blu-ray Limited Edition box set of Jackie Chan’s Police Story and Police Story 2 on 8/20 in the UK, mastered from new 4K restorations.
Still more awesomeness: MPI Home Video has just announced a George Carlin Commemorative Collection DVD box set for release on 6/12 that includes all 14 of Carlin’s HBO specials and more than five hours of addition material from Carlin’s personal archive, including appearances on CBS Talent Scouts (1963), The Hollywood Palace (1966), and The Jackie Gleason Show (1969), his first TV special The Real George Carlin (1973), the never-aired pilot for an HBO TV series starring Carlin, Bobcat Goldthwait and Kelly Carlin called APT 2C (1985), and two hour-long workshop appearances at The Comedy Store (1999) and The Comedy & Magic Club (2006). Also today, Terminal is coming from RLJ Entertainment on Blu-ray and DVD on 6/26.
And finally Sony has set Alien Code for release on DVD and Digital on 8/7.
