All right, we’ve got a couple of news items to cover for you today...

First up, a quick reminder: Warner’s The Matrix is now available for pre-order in 4K Ultra HD on Amazon with a street date of 5/22. Click here to visit the pre-order page.

Speaking of 4K, we have a number of retail sources now that are suggesting that the street date for Marvel and Disney’s Black Panther on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K will be 5/15. So today’s post is a quick one, but it’s a very, very good bit of news, especially for catalog and 4K fans…

Retail sources have begun telling us that Warner Bros. Home Entertainment is preparing to release a 4K Ultra HD version of director Stanley Kubrick’s landmark science fiction film 2001: A Space Odyssey. This is something we’ve actually known was coming for a few months now, having heard it off the record directly from studio sources.
