All right, we’re kicking things off today with two more new Blu-ray reviews...

We start with Tim’s take on Larry Cohen’s It’s Alive Trilogy, new on Blu-ray from our friends at Scream Factory. He’s also got a review of Herschell Gordon Lewis’s Two Thousand Maniacs! on Blu-ray from the good folks at Arrow Video.

I’m working to wrap up that review of The Patriot in 4K Ultra HD from Sony, and I should have that up later this afternoon. So be sure to watch for it. Fury is on deck along with Escape Plan from Lionsgate.

Universal swears that they’re sending us the Jurassic Park Collection for review as well, so we do intend to cover it as soon as we’re able. [Read on here...]

So the big announcement news is that Paramount has officially announced a set of five 4K titles we first reported were coming way back in January (and again in March): Mission: Impossible (1996), Mission: Impossible 2 (2000), Mission: Impossible III (2006), Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol (2011), and Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation (2015). Look for all of them to street on 4K Ultra HD on 6/26. Our information is that the first and second films are scanned in native 4K from film, the third was finished a 2K DI, and the fourth and fifth were finished as native 4K DIs. So they should all look pretty great. We’re waiting to see what the HDR format will be on these (Update: Both Dolby Vision and HDR10 on all five), but in terms of audio, look for all of the existing surround mixes to carry over save for Rogue Nation, which will have Dolby Atmos. You can see the final cover artwork for all five of these left and below. It doesn’t appear that a box set of all five is currently planned. We’ve updated our 4K Ultra HD Release List here at The Bits accordingly.

In other release news today, Lionsgate has set Ash vs Evil Dead: The Complete Third Season for release on Blu-ray and DVD on 8/21 (SRP $39.97 and $34.98, respectively), with the digital release expected on 5/25. As you know, this will be the last season of the series on Starz. Extras will include audio commentary with executive producer Rob Tapert on every episode. You can see the cover art below.

Lionsgate and Starz have also announced the Blu-ray and DVD release of Counterpart: The Complete First Season on 7/31 (SRP $39.97 and $34.98, respectively). Extras will include 2 featurettes (Season Outlook and Inside the World of Counterpart). Again, you can see the cover art below.

And Lionsgate has announced the 6/26 Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital release of the western The Escape of Prisoner 614.Finally, Warner Home Entertainment has set Blindspot: The Complete Third Season for DVD release on 8/21, though we have word that a Blu-ray version will be available from the Warner Archive. Extras will include all 22 episodes, the Surveillance on Set: Agent Zapata featurette, deleted scenes, and a gag reel.

We’ll leave you with a look at that cover artwork we mentioned above (and we’ll add the Amazon.com pre-order links for each as soon as they’re available)...
