Criterion’s January includes Breakfast Club, plus Blade Runner: 2049 pre-orders, Twilight, Olive & more
Morning, folks. We’re going to be working on more reviews here at The Bits today, but we do have some interesting release news to report for you before we get started on those.
First, it appears that whatever was going on to delay the Amazon pre-orders for upcoming 4K titles from Warner seems to have been resolved. You can now pre-order Blade Runner: 2049 on 4K (and also Blu-ray – keep in mind the title hasn’t officially been announced, so there’s no street date yet and we don’t know if there will be the 3D and deluxe SKUs in the US) and also Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban – one of the four remaining Potter titles due on 11/7. We expect the others to appear soon and we’ve updated our 4K Ultra HD Release List too. [Read on here…]

A quick note before we start today’s post: A bunch of you have e-mailed over the past week or so and I’ve got a bit of a backlog in getting back to everyone. So if you haven’t heard from me yet, I’ll do my best to respond to all of you over the next few days. Thanks for your patience!
Now then... let’s have an overdue announcement news round-up, shall we?

Introducing The 4K Ultra HD Release List!
With so many good new and catalog titles finally coming to the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray format from all of the major Hollywood studios – and a few indie studios too – we wanted to make a list of all of the titles currently available, announced for release, and/or known to be coming in the U.S. and U.K. markets based on our sources. We also have a second list for International releases. We’re grouping them by studio first and then by street date. Note that this is NOT meant to be a list of every possible SKU, every regional variation, every retail exclusive version, etc – rather, it’s simply a list of all the films available on the format.
We’re also noting which titles are native 4K and have Dolby Vision HDR – if not indicated, assume the title is a 2K up-sample and/or that it has HDR-10. We’re also indicating the object-based audio format used (if such is included) and noting reference-quality titles with an asterisk (*). If the title has been reviewed here on The Digital Bits, we’ll provide a link to our review. Finally, each title has a purchase link for Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk, or other international Amazon, if available. Alternately, you can use one of these button links...
Here’s a the link to the list (or simply scroll down). We hope you find it useful!

Let us know if we’ve missed one.
Please keep in mind that TBA titles and dates are ESTIMATES based on best-available information from sources and are NOT to be considered official until the studios in question make their respective announcements.
** = Reference title, * = Standout title, N4K = Native 4K, DV = Dolby Vision HDR
(Note: All titles not listed as DV = HDR10 by default)
(FR/DE) = Amazon purchase links, DA = Dolby Atmos audio, X = DTS:X audio
