In announcement news today, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment has just made Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials official for release on 2-disc Blu-ray and DVD on 12/15. Extras on both versions will include 14 deleted/extended scenes with audio commentary by Wes Ball, T.S. Nowlin, Joe Hartwick Jr. and Dan Zimmerman, plus a gag reel, 2 galleries (Concept Art and Storyboards), and theatrical trailers. To this, the Blu-ray will exclusively add Janson’s Report, the 6-part Secrets of the Scorch documentary (The Second Chapter Begins…, Creating a Scorched Earth, New Friends and Enemies, Surviving the Scorch, Creating the Cranks, and On the Edge: Constructing the Skyscraper Sequence), 3 Visual Effects Breakdowns with optional commentary and 8 Visual Effects Reel clips. It’s 2 hours worth of video material in all, plus you get a 24-page prequel comic book.

Note that Fox is also releasing the documentary He Named Me Malala on DVD and digital on 12/15.

Meanwhile, HBO has set Silicon Valley: The Complete Second Season for Blu-ray and DVD release on 4/5/2016. They’ve also set Veep: The Complete Fourth Season for Blu-ray and DVD release on 4/19/2016.

BBC has set the Earth documentary Life Story for Blu-ray and DVD release on 4/5. It’s narrated by David Attenborough.

How do you like this? Full Moon features will release Cannibal Women in the Avocado Jungle of Death (1989) on Blu-ray on 2/23.

Universal has set M. Night Shyamalan’s The Visit for Blu-ray and DVD release on 1/5.

And Screen Media has set Alfredo Rodriguez de Villa’s Adrift in Manhattan for Blu-ray and DVD release on 11/17.

By the way, Amazon is also taking pre-orders on the TBA Blu-ray release of Bridge of Spies, Black Mass, EverestSicario, Crimson Peak, The Intern, Steve Jobs, PAN, Goosebumps, The Walk, and Hotel Transylvania 2. Click on the title links to visit the pre-order pages for each.

In other news today, we wanted to direct your attention to a terrific new film-related Kickstarter project. Legendary animators and producers Don Bluth and Gary Goldman are working together to try and make an animated Dragon’s Lair: The Movie! They’re hoping to raise half a million to make it happen, and they’re 1/5th of the way there with 22 days to go. There are all kinds of great perks. And seriously, a Dragon’s Lair movie? How cool is that? So do check out their Kickstarter page here and pitch in if you’d like to support them.

Also, around the Net today, there’s word that HBO is considering producing a Deadwood feature film (to close out the series’ storylines, which were left hanging when the show was cancelled), plus the BBC is working on a new 8-episode miniseries based on Philip Pullman’s His Dark Materials books (think The Golden Compass), and Netflix has just officially renewed Longmire for a fifth season! Good news all around.

All right, here’s a look at a bunch more cover artwork (with Amazon pre-order links) – some for new titles and some big upcoming titles set to be released over the next few weeks...
