Lionsgate sets Hitman’s Bodyguard for 11/21, plus new titles from Shout!, Kino, Olive, Twilight & more

We’ve got lots more announcement news for you today…

Lionsgate has just set The Hitman’s Bodyguard for release on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD on 11/21. We’ve updated our 4K Ultra HD Release List accordingly. The studio has also set Marc Webb’s The Only Living Boy in New York for Digital HD release on 10/20. There’s no word yet of a physical release. Lionsgate will also release The Glass Castle on Blu-ray and DVD on 11/7, with the Digital HD release set for 10/24.

Warner Bros Home Entertainment is releasing Justice League Action: Season 1, Part 1 and Once Upon a Sesame Street Christmas on DVD on 10/10. [Read on here…]

Shout! Factory has release details on their Misery: Collector’s Edition, which is due on Blu-ray on 11/28. It will include a new 4K restoration from the original film elements, new interviews with director Rob Reiner and make-up artist Greg Nicotero, and all of the legacy special features as well. Shout! has also detailed their new Into the Night: Shout Select edition Blu-ray, due on 11/7. Look for that to include a “new restored master”, 2 new featurettes (John Landis: Back into the Night and Jeff Goldblum: Requiem for an Insomniac), the award-winning documentary B.B. King: Into the Night, and the film’s trailer.

Our friends at Kino Lorber Studio Classics are releasing Garry Marshall’s Young Doctors in Love on Blu-ray and DVD on 10/31. They’ve also just announced F.W. Murnau’s The Last Laugh (1924 – 2-Disc Set – Blu-ray and DVD) for release on 11/14, followed by Hard Country (1981 – Blu-ray and DVD via Scorpion Releasing) on 12/12. And newly revealed to be coming soon from Kino are Highway Dragnet (1954 – Blu-ray and DVD), Blame it on Rio (1984 – Blu-ray), Miracles (1986 – Blu-ray and DVD), Stingaree (1934 – Blu-ray and DVD), The Kentuckian (1955 – Blu-ray – December), Cadillac Man (1990 – Blu-ray), and Legend of the Lost (1957 – Blu-ray).

Meanwhile, Olive Films has announced that their future Olive Signature line Blu-ray releases will be produced in limited editions of 3,500 only. Their November titles are expected to include Blake Edward’s Operation Petticoat (1959) and Ralph Nelson’s Father Goose (1964), each loaded with extras. Twilight Time’s October Blu-ray slate will include Captain from Castile (1947), The Pirates of Blood River (1962), Play Dirty (1969), and Wild Bill (1995), all due on 10/17 with 3000 units each. Pre-orders open on 10/4 at 1 PM Pacific on Twilight Time Movies and Screen Archives Entertainment.

Well Go USA will release Broken Sword Hero on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital on 10/31.

First Run Features will release Central Park: The People’s Place and Hans Richter on DVD on 10/3.

CAV and Intervision have set Beyond the Seventh Door for DVD only release on 10/31.

The Cohen Film Collection will release James Whale’s The Old Dark House (1932) on Blu-ray and DVD on 10/24.

The MVD Entertainment Group has set the Lewis Black: Black to the Future comedy special for CD and DVD release on 10/13, and there will be a vinyl LP pressing as well that’s available on 12/8.

Vega Baby Releasing and Sony Pictures Home Entertainment are releasing the sci-fi thriller Shortwave on DVD on 10/3, with a VOD release expected on 10/24.

MHz Networks is releasing Blue Eyes, Camilla Läckberg: The Preacher, The Stonecutter and The Stranger, Inspector Winter, and Paris: The Great Saga on DVD only on 9/26.

Public Media Distribution has set The Real Story: Saving Private Ryan for DVD release on 10/17.

And for you UK readers, Eureka! has set Park Hoon-jung’s The Tiger for release on Blu-ray and DVD on 11/6.
