All right, first up today, our own Joe Marchese has posted a review of Criterion’s The Blob on Blu-ray!  Nothing like a B-movie classic given A-list special edition treatment.  Read on and enjoy!

Also, our own Russell Hammond has just updated the Release Dates & Artwork section with all the latest Blu-ray, DVD and Video Game cover artwork and Amazon.com pre-order links.  As always, a portion of anything you order from Amazon after clicking through our links goes to help support our work here at The Bits and we greatly appreciate it.

In announcement news today, Well Go USA Entertainment has just set IP Man: The Final Fight for release on Blu-ray and DVD on 11/12 (SRP $29.98 and $24.98).  Extras will include a making of featurette, 11 cast and crew interviews and both the U.S. and international trailers.  [Read on here...]

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has set the family title Matilda for release on Blu-ray for the first time on 12/3. Extras will include 4 featurettes included on the previous DVD, plus the all new Afternoon Tea: A Very Magical Matilda Reunion featurette.

Also, in other news today, Bits readers have been reporting problems with Interscope’s recent Madonna: MDNA Tour Blu-ray for a couple weeks now.  Specifically, a number of menu items don’t work and there’s no sound in the front right and surround right channels.  We’ve been trying to contact Interscope about the issue to no effect.  Fortunately, Madonna has had better luck.  She’s apparently confirmed there are issues and she’s promoted the label to investigate.  And now Interscope has announced a U.S. only recall.  I would imagine there will have to be some kind of exchange of defective discs, but Interscope hasn’t exactly been responsive, so I would watch Madonna’s Facebook page for details.  You can also read more here via the Huffington Post.

Here’s a look at the Blu-ray cover art for Well Go’s IP Man: The Final Fight, Universal’s 2 Guns (temp art) and Criterion’s Zatoichi: The Blind Swordsman box set (due 11/26)...
