Well, it’s been a busy week of new title announcements here at The Bits. So let’s wrap things up with a few more here today. But first, more new disc reviews...

Our own Tim Salmons has just shared his thoughts on Vince Monton’s Windrider (1987), new on Blu-ray from Umbrella Entertainment’s Ozploitation line-up. And he’s also checked out Mark Hartley’s excellent 2008 documentary Not Quite Hollywood: The Wild, Untold Story of Ozploitation!, also new on Blu-ray from Umbrella Entertainment’s Ozploitation line.

Meanwhile, Dennis has turned in a review of David Miller’s Back Street (1961) on Blu-ray from Kino Lorber Studio Classics.

And Stephen rounds things out today with a look at Francine Parker’s F.T.A. (1972) on Blu-ray from Kino Lorber Studio Classics.

So enjoy those and know that lots more disc reviews are on the way for next week, including some new 4K Ultra HD reviews from yours truly. [Read on here...]

Now then, the big piece of announcement news today is that Arrow Video has just officially unveiled their outstanding Shawscope: Volume One Blu-ray box set for release on 12/6. The 8-disc set will include no less than twelve 1970s Shaw Brothers classic films, including King Boxer (aka Five Fingers of Death), The Boxer from Shantung, Five Shaolin Masters, Shaolin Temple, Mighty Peking Man, Challenge of the Masters, Executioners from Shaolin, Chinatown Kid, The Five Venoms, Crippled Avengers, Heroes of the East, Dirty Ho, all in HD and several presented in new 2K restorations from the original camera negative. There will also be tons of new and archive special features, along with a 60-page book. You can see what that looks like below (click to pre-order from Zavvi US)...

Don’t forget that Arrow also has True Romance coming on 4K Ultra HD in the UK only (due to rights issues) on 7/19, and you can pre-order that here (via Zavvi US) and here (via Zavvi UK). It’s also available on Amazon UK here.

Speaking of Arrow, be aware that the company is now shipping out its Donnie Darko 4K UHD replacement discs for those who requested them (which can be done here).

For those of you in the UK, Network is getting ready to release the Gerry and Silvia Anderson “Supermarionation” classic TV series Supercar on Blu-ray on 8/23. The series has been remastered from original 35mm film elements in honor of its 60th anniversary. The Limited Edition Deluxe box set is available exclusively from the Network on Air website here.

Closer to home, the Warner Archive Collection is going to be releasing Savage Steve Holland’s 1986 romantic comedy classic One Crazy Summer on Blu-ray Disc on 8/10. The film stars John Cusack, Demi Moore, and Bobcat Goldthwait. You can see the cover artwork below.

And finally, we’ve re-shared our flashback interview on Inside Moves for your reading enjoyment here at The Bits today, featuring our own Dr. Adam Jahnke chatting with the late great director Richard Donner. If you missed it when we first published the interview back in 2009, we certainly hope you enjoy it now. You’ll find that here.

We’ll leave you today with a look at the cover artwork for a few more upcoming Blu-ray and 4K titles, with Amazon.com pre-order links if available...
