We have three more new disc reviews for you today, including…

Stephen’s look at both the regular 4K Ultra HD and 4K Steelbook versions of Clint Eastwood’s Pale Rider (1985) in 4K Ultra HD from Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment.

And Dennis’ take on Kirk Douglas’ Posse (1975) on Blu-ray from Paramount via Kino Lorber Studio Classics.

In release news today, Vinegar Syndrome has announced a trio of new 4K Ultra HD titles as part of their Halfway to Black Friday event, including Bob Saget’s Dirty Work (1998), Michael Ritchie’s The Golden Child (1986), and William Friedkin’s Jade (1995)! All three will include Dolby Vision HDR and substantial extras.

What’s more, our friends at Kino Lorber Studio Classics have just set George Stevens’ Shane (1953) for 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray release on 7/15! That’s a Paramount title, and it’ll include Dolby Vision HDR. [Read on here...]

KLSC has also set Hugh Wilson’s Rustlers’ Rhapsody (1985) and Paul Maslansky’s Sugar Hill (1974) for Blu-ray release on 6/24.

Speaking of Paramount, we finally have an official street date for Billy Wilder’s Sunset Boulevard (1950) in 4K Ultra HD from Paramount Home Entertainment—look for it on 8/5, with Dolby Vision HDR.

Also coming from Paramount that day is Savage Steve Holland’s Better Off Dead (1985) in 4K Ultra HD.

Universal has set Christopher Landon’s Drop (2025) for Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD release on 6/10.

The company has also set a new 4K Unrated Edition Steelbook version of Gerard Johnstone’s M3GAN (2022) for release on 6/24.

Shout! Factory has added a new 4K titles to their July slate: Derek Cianfrance’s The Place Beyond the Pines (2012) and 4K Steelbooks of Irvin Kershner’s RoboCop 2 (1990) and André Øvredal’s The Last Voyage of the Demeter (2023).

Blue Underground has set Jess Franco’s The Blood of Fu Manchu (1968) and The Castle of Fu Manchu (1969) for 4K Ultra HD release on 7/29.

Here’s something interesting: Chernin Entertainment and Fifth Season are releasing See: The Complete Series (2019-22) on Blu-ray on 7/8. That’s an Apple TV+ original series, which offers hope that other such series may eventually find their way to physical media.

88 Films has set Jackie Chan’s Armour of God II: Operation Condor (1991) for 4K Ultra HD release on 7/4.

And here’s something fun: Our friends at the Criterion Collection just invited actor/director Ben Affleck into the Criterion Closet to make his picks, one of which was Armageddon on DVD. And right at the end of the video, Affleck looks right at the camera and cheekily asks “Criterion, when is the 4K coming out?” Coincidence? Well, the Walt Disney Studios Restoration team has completed a new 4K remaster. Just saying! Anyway, you can watch that here.

That’s all for now. Stay tuned…!
