All right, hope you all had a great weekend…

We’ve added 14 more classic Blu-ray reviews from the original Bits website into the new review database here, including Adam Jahnke’s thoughts on Gamer, The Thing (1982), The Nightmare Before Christmas, Land of the Dead, Scream 4, Mimic, The Final Destination 3D, The Last Circus, Whip It, Halloween II: 30th Anniversary Edition, The New York Ripper, The Prowler, Splice and Frozen (2010).  Lots more are coming, so we’ll keep at it until all of the old BD reviews are updated.  [Read on here…]

Also here at The Bits today, the good Dr. Jahnke has turned in a new installment of his Burnt Offerings column in which he looks back at the best and worst of MOD-DVD for 2013, and offers his grades on each of the major studio MOD release programs.  Enjoy!

In announcement news today, CBS and Paramount have set I Love Lucy: The Ultimate Season One for Blu-ray release on 4/8, along with The Andy Griffith Show: The Complete First Season and The Honeymooners: “Classic 39” Episodes.  Looks like all the previous DVD extras will carry over, which means Lucy in particular will be loaded with content.  Andy Griffith will include additional scenes.  Honeymooners will include a number of featurettes among other things.  Here’s a look at the official cover artwork (we’ll add Amazon pre-order links as soon as they’re available)…

I Love Lucy: Ultimate Blu-ray Season 1 (Blu-ray Disc)    The Andy Griffith Show: Season 1 (Blu-ray Disc)    The Honeymooners: Classic 39 Episodes (Blu-ray Disc)

Speaking of CBS, in addition to Star Trek: Enterprise – The Complete Fourth Season arriving on Blu-ray on 4/1, you’ll also get a Star Trek: Enterprise – The Complete Series package.

CBS also has The Horror at 37,000 Feet coming to DVD only on 3/18.

In addition, it appears that the street date for Disney’s Frozen is going to be 3/18 as well.  And as expected, it appears that the Blu-ray 3D version will be exclusive to Walmart for a limited time.

Inception Media Group has set Space Voyages, White House Revealed, Knight of the Dead and Concrete Blondes for DVD release on 1/21.

In other news today, there’s a report that a number of titles (including Top Gun and Titanic) are about to disappear from Netflix as their license expires.  More here at CNN.

And here’s a look at the Blu-ray cover art for Disney’s Frozen (TBA for 3/18), and temp art for Paramount’s The Wolf of Wall Street and Nebraska, both of which are TBA but already available for pre-order on Amazon…
