Warner sets Creed for 3/1, plus new Lampoon doc, more Kino/Olive catalog & Eureka’s April UK BDs

We’ve got one new review for you today, then some more release news...

First up, Tim has checked in with his thoughts on Disney and Pixar’s Inside Out on Blu-ray (it’s also available on Blu-ray 3D and DVD). Do check it out.

In announcement news, Warner Home Video has confirmed the 3/1 Blu-ray and DVD release of Ryan Coogler’s Creed. Special features will include deleted scenes and 2 featurettes (Know the Past, Own the Future and Becoming Adonis). You can see the Blu-ray cover artwork below.  [Read on here…]

Warner will also release Major Crimes: The Complete Fourth Season on DVD only on 5/24.

Meanwhile, Universal is releasing a reissue of The Classic Sci-Fi Collection: Volume 1 on 3-disc DVD on 4/5, including the films Tarantula, The Mole People, The Incredible Shrinking Man, The Monolith Monsters, and Monster on the Campus. Extras will include the theatrical trailers.

Universal has also set Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: Season One for DVD only release on 3/8.

Kino Lorber has announced the 5/3 release of A Kiss Before Dying (BD) and Assassination (BD & DVD), followed by Solarbabies and The Manhattan Project (both on BD and DVD) on 5/10. They’ve also revealed that they’re working Haunted Honeymoon (1986) for Blu-ray and DVD release (street date TBA) starring Gene Wilder, Gilda Radner, and Dom DeLuise.

PBS has set Masterpiece: Mr. Selfridge – Season Four and Nova: Rise of the Robots for Blu-ray and DVD release on 5/17.

VCI Entertainment will release Irving Rapper’s The Brave One (1956) on Blu-ray on 4/26. The film was written by Dalton Trumbo.

Olive Films has the catalog titles What’s the Worst That Could Happen?, Uptown Girls, Try and Get Me!, Unlikely Heroes, Sibling Rivalry, The Major, The Fool, Fatal Beauty, Dead Pigeon on Beethoven Street, and Betrayed coming to Blu-ray on 4/19.

Magnolia Entertainment has set the Drunk Stoned Brilliant Dead: The Story of the National Lampoon documentary for Blu-ray and DVD release on 4/19.

And Eureka is releasing Sydney Pollack’s Three Days of the Condor on Blu-ray/DVD Combo on 4/11 in the UK, as part of their Masters of Cinema line, featuring a new HD transfer, the original theatrical trailer, and a booklet of press images. Eureka is also releasing Bernardo Bertolucci’s epic 1900 (aka Novecento) on Blu-ray in the UK on 4/18. The 5-hour saga stars Robert De Niro and Gérard Depardieu. It will feature an HD transfer, English and Italian uncompressed PCM soundtracks, English subtitles for the deaf and hard-of-hearing for the English audio and English subtitles for the Italian audio, a pair of 2006 featurettes (The Story, The Cast and Creating An Epic), the hour-long on-set documentary Bertolucci secondo il cinema, and a booklet featuring notes by Bertolucci and production images. Finally, Eureka has Man with a Movie Camera and Other Works by Dziga Vertov coming on 4-disc Blu-ray/DVD on 4/18 as well. Included will be the films Man with a Movie Camera (1929), Kino-Eye (1924), Kino-Pravda #21 (1925), Enthusiasm: Symphony of the Donbass (1931), and Three Songs About Lenin (1934), plus extras including The Alloy Orchestra score for Man with a Movie Camera, new audio commentary, video interviews, and a 100-page limited edition book. Keep in mind, these are Region B releases (with SD DVD content in PAL format). But I’ll add the Amazon.co.uk links and artwork below.
