Today’s update is going to be brief, because I have an appointment I have to rush off to. But we do have a couple things for you...

First though, our own Russell Hammond has updated the Release Dates & Artwork section with all the latest Blu-ray and DVD cover artwork and Amazon.com pre-order links. As always, anytime you order stuff from Amazon through our links, it helps support our work here and we greatly appreciate it.

[Editor’s Note: The section of text below regarding The Alamo has been updated on 5/31 to reflect important corrected information. Please give it another read to ensure that you have the most accurate/updated info.]

We’re closing out the week here at The Bits today with some big announcement news for you Marvel Universe fans, as well as an update on the situation with The Alamo.

But first, our own Bud Elder has turned in a new View from the Cheap Seats column in which he talks about location scouting in his native Oklahoma and takes a look at a great new book on John Wayne. Afternoon, folks! Hope you all enjoyed your long holiday weekend here in the States. Or, for the rest of you, that you had a decent Monday as such things go. Release news is a little slow today, given the long weekend, but we do have a couple things for you today.

First, as we suggested would happen back in March, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has just set the excellent Jodorowsky’s Dune documentary for Blu-ray Combo release on 7/8. The only extra to expect will be deleted scenes. Regardless, this one is totally worth your time if you’re a fan of 70-80 cinema, science fiction, and or the work of director Alejandro Jodorowsky. Trust us, it’s a little gem. [Read on here…]
