Okay... just a quick update today. I dropped my cell phone this weekend and cracked the screen. Naturally, I didn’t buy the insurance since Verizon talked me into buying the fancy indestructible case. So anyway, it’s meant a couple days scrambling while I try to get it fixed.

Meanwhile, we do have a new Doogan’s Queue for you today from Todd, covering today’s new releases on Blu-ray and DVD. We’ve also got Dr. Jahnke’s latest Burnt Offerings: MOD DVD column detailing the latest from Warner Archive and such. And be sure to check out our weekly update of the Release Dates & Artwork section from Russell. [Read on here...]

And in case you missed it when we first posted it on Sunday morning, Michael Coate has a new History, Legacy & Showmanship column up honoring the 30th anniversary of the theatrical release of Ghostbusters. Enjoy!

Speaking of Michael, he wanted me to tell you about something happening tonight in London. The daughter of Zulu director Cy Endfield let him know that they’re holding a big gala 50th anniversary re-premiere screening event tonight – visit the zulu50.com website for tickets and all the details. So if you’re a fan of the film and you live in the U.K., be sure to check it out.

In announcement news, Warner Home Video has set an Audrey Hepburn: Blu-ray Collection for release on 9/30, including Sabrina, Funny Face, and Breakfast at Tiffany’s. SRP is $29.99.

Warner has also just released Kismet on Blu-ray too - for more on that see Adam’s Burnt Offerings column today.

Also a quick heads-up: Twilight Time’s 7/8 Blu-ray slate goes open for pre-orders next Wednesday (6/18) at 1 PM Pacific. They’ll include Born Yesterday (1950), Brannigan, Radio Days, and Violent Saturday. Visit Screen Archives Entertainment for more details and to order next week.

Universal has set Cat Run 2 for Blu-ray release on 8/26. The studio has also announced that their September Blu-ray catalog slate (due 9/2) will include Casper, Firestarter, The People Under the Stairs, The Return, The Watcher, and White Noise.

And Universal is releasing a Hammer Horror Series 8-Film Collection on DVD only on 9/2, set to include Brides of Dracula, The Phantom of the Opera (1962), The Kiss of the Vampire, Night Creatures, The Curse of the Werewolf, Paranoiac, Nightmare, and The Evil of Frankenstein.

Here’s some new cover artwork for you. Warner’s Audrey Hepburn Collection, Universal’s Cat Run 2 (8/26), and Lionsgate’s The Quiet Ones (8/19)...
