All right, we’ve been working to smooth out some server issues here at The Bits over the past few days, so pardon any service interruptions that may occur. Hopefully, we should have things back to normal soon.

Before we get started on the news today, we’ve got three new Blu-ray reviews for you... Tim’s look at Ken Wiederhorn’s Return of the Living Dead, Part II (1988) from Scream Factory.

David Steigman’s take on Stephen Sommers’ Deep Rising (1996) from Kino Lorber Studio Classics and Mark Rydell’s Cinderella Liberty (1973) from Twilight Time.

And Dennis Seuling’s thoughts on Bill Holderman’s romantic comedy Book Club from Paramount. [Read on here...]

Now then... we have a quick street date update for you from our retail sources: It currently appears that both Disney’s Christopher Robin and Disney and Pixar’s The Incredibles 2 will both street on home video on 11/6.

Also, a quick title update: Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has officially delayed the Blu-ray release of Batman: The Animated Series from 10/16 until 10/30. No reason was given, though presumably it’s just the usual manufacturing delay. As we get into the end of the year, there’s often a lot of big titles going into replication and packaging and sometimes scheduling these things is just a little trickier. Warner has released a promo on YouTube showing the show’s HD-remastered opening. You can view that here...

Now then... starting with 4K news, the joint HDR10+ venture between 20th Century Fox, Panasonic, and Samsung has announced HDR10+ firmware updates for the majority of Panasonic and Samsung 2018 4K television models (and no doubt Ultra HD Blu-ray players by both manufacturers as well). 20th Century Fox has also committed to incorporating HDR10+ metadata in its upcoming slate of 4K UHD releases.

Lionsgate will release Uncle Drew on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD on 9/25, with the Digital release expected on 9/11. The Blu-ray and 4K discs will include Dolby Atmos audio.

And Paramount is releasing Transformers: The Ultimate 5-Movie Collection on 4K Ultra HD on 11/6 (SRP $71.81 on Amazon), for those of you who waited to purchase the films in 4K in one box. You can see the cover artwork below.

In other news, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has set I Think We’re Alone Now for release on Blu-ray and DVD on 10/23. The film stars Peter Dinklage and Elle Fanning.

Well Go USA has set Afraid for release on DVD and Digital on 10/2.

And Kino Lorber Studio Classics has announced the 11/6 Blu-ray and DVD release of the Ray Milland films A Man Alone (1955) and Lisbon (1956), both mastered from new 4K scans. Also coming on 11/27 to both Blu-ray and DVD the Robert Aldrich films The Killing of Sister George (1968) and The Grissom Gang (1971).

Here’s a look at the cover artwork for a couple of the titles mentioned above and more, all now available on (just click on the cover art below and remember than when you do so, you’re helping to support our work here at The Bits and we appreciate it!)...

Transformers: 5-Film Set (4K Ultra HD) Twilight (4K Ultra HD) Batman: The Animated Series (Blu-ray Disc)

Prince of Egypt (Blu-ray Disc) Antz (Blu-ray Disc) The Big Lebowski (4K Ultra HD)

Back tomorrow. Stay tuned...
