Release News catch-up: Vikings, High Plains Drifter, Epic, Wicker Man: Final Cut & more!

All right, let’s catch up on some other release news from the last few days…

As you’ll recall, we  mentioned yesterday that Pacific Rim is now available for pre-order on Amazon.com (on Blu-ray 3D and Blu-ray).  So too is World War Z (Blu-ray 3D and Blu-ray) and The Lone Ranger (on Blu-ray).

Meanwhile, 20th Century Fox, MGM and History Channel have set Vikings: Season One for Blu-ray release on 10/15.

Fox has also set Home Run for BD release on 10/8, along with Three Wives and The East both on Blu-ray on 9/17.

Fox has also set the CG-animated Epic for release on Blu-ray and DVD on 8/20, complete with nearly an hour’s worth of bonus featurettes and interactive content.

Universal has set High Plains Drifter (1973) for release on Blu-ray on 10/15.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has Love Is All You Need due on BD on 9/10.

The Weinstein Company has set Scary Movie 5: Unrated for Blu-ray Combo release on 8/20, as well as The Sapphires on Blu-ray on 8/6.

Disney and ABC’s Once Upon a Time: The Complete Second Season will arrive on Blu-ray and DVD on 8/13.

Anchor Bay Entertainment will release The Black Waters of Echo’s Pond due on BD on 9/10.

Image Entertainment will release Idle Hands (1999) on Blu-ray on 9/3.

Lionsgate will release The Bling Ring on Blu-ray and DVD on 9/17.  They also have History’s Haunted History series coming on DVD only that same day.

Shout! Factory and Timeless Media will release Shout at the Devil (starring Lee Marvin and Roger Moore) on Blu-ray and DVD on 10/8, as well as Voyage of the Damned on both formats on 9/24.

Shout! will also release Transformers Prime: Beast Hunters – Predacons Rising on Blu-ray and DVD on 10/8.

Exclusive Media is releasing the Hammer films title Dracula: Prince of Darkness (starring Christopher Lee) on Blu-ray on 9/17.

Cinedigm will release Arthur Newman on Blu-ray Combo and DVD on 9/3.

IFC has set On the Road for Blu-ray release on 8/6.

Well Go USA will release Zombie Hunter on Blu-ray on 10/8, along with The Last Tycoon on BD on 9/17 and Slightly Single in L.A. on BD on 9/3.

Magnet/Magnolia has set V/H/S/2 set for Blu-ray/DVD Combo and Blu-ray/DVD/VHS Combo (yes, you read that right) on 9/24.  Europa Report will follow on VD on 10/8, followed by A Hijacking on BD on 10/15, I Give It a Year on BD on 10/22, and Syrup on BD on 11/5.

Millennium Entertainment will release The Iceman (starring Michael Shannon, Winona Ryder and James Franco) on Blu-ray and DVD on 9/3.

Arc Entertainment has set Standing Up for Blu-ray and DVD release exclusively at Walmart stories on 8/20.

Finally, Vertical Entertainment will release Rushlights on Blu-ray and DVD on 7/30.

And in news from around the Net, director Robin Hardy has announced that he and Studio Canal have discovered a print of his original, preferred version of The Wicker Man (1973).  The Wicker Man: The Final Cut will find its way to restored Blu-ray release from Studio Canal later this year in the U.K. (and one presumes a U.S. release will follow).  More here at Geeks of Doom.
