We’ve also got another bit of great news on the 4K Ultra HD front: Kino Lorber Studio Classics has just joined the 4K party with their first licensed 4K title: Ridley Scott’s Hannibal (2001) from MGM! The disc was mastered from a new 4K scan, features a new HDR/SDR color grade by cinematographer John Mathieson, and will carry over lots of the original Blu-ray special edition content (much of it produced by our old friend Charles de Lauzirika). Look for it to street on 4/30. We’ll add the Amazon pre-order link when it goes live.

With Kino’s entry, that makes two new studios that have joined 4K in the last couple of weeks (the most recent being Flicker Alley). We hope this is just the start of a new trend on indie studio 4K releases!

Now then… we’ve gotten a great response from readers in our poll of digital streaming hardware and services, but please keep the answers coming. Once again, we’re looking to hear from all of you what your answers are to these questions: What set-top device do you use to access your favorite streaming content? And most importantly are there any services you can’t access on that device (if so, which ones)? We want to hear from both US and international readers (and if you’re outside the US, please tell us where you are). Finally, one last note: I’m very pleased to see Damien Chazelle’s First Man land in the Number 1 spot in NPD VideoScan’s latest Blu-ray/4K sales chart.
