Burnt Offerings for August 26, 2014

If last week was a slow one for new MOD releases, this week is downright stagnant. There are just two new titles from Warner Archive and they’re this week’s Little Lebowski Urban Achievers. But fans of a certain Boston detective will be happy and, if nothing else, it won’t take you long to read this column.

Banners, click, shop, support, thanks.  [Read on here...]

Doogan’s Queue for August 26, 2014

That’s me shrugging off this week’s slightly lame releases, BTW. Best of the bunch: a Criterion release that’s long overdue and Walking Dead’s newest season on collected Blu. But there’s other stuff if you look hard enough. Let’s do that together shall we?  [Read on here…]

An Honor To Be Nominated: Tootsie

(If it can be difficult to remember who won the Academy Award for Best Picture, it’s downright mindbending trying to remember everything else it was up against. In An Honor To Be Nominated, I’ll be taking a look back at some of the movies the Oscar didn’t go to and trying to determine if they were robbed, if the Academy got it right, or if they should ever have been nominated in the first place.)
