Okay, we’re going to take a little time on this Friday after Christmas to report on a whole bunch of upcoming titles that are newly announced or on the way.

First though, we have two more new disc reviews...

Dennis has turned in a look at John Lemont’s Konga (1961), new on Blu-ray from Kino Lorber Studio Classics.

And Tim has posted his thoughts on Robert Forley’s Murders in the Rue Morgue (1932), also newly released on Blu-ray from Kino Lorber Studio Classics.

Also here at The Bits today, we’ve updated our 4K Ultra HD Release List to include news that DiscoTek Media is working to bring Hayao Miyazaki’s Lupin the 3rd: The Castle of Cagliostro to 4K Ultra HD here in the States early in 2020.

We’ve also added Vinegar Syndrome’s Tammy and the T-Rex, directed by Stewart Raffill, which is coming to physical 4K Ultra HD on January 18th (along with Blu-ray/DVD Combo). [Read on here...]

All right, let’s get to the release news...

Our friends at Powerhouse Films/Indicator have announced a great batch of Blu-ray titles for release in the UK in February, including Sidney Gilliat’s Endless Night (1972), Dennis Potter’s Secret Friends (1991), and Peter Greenaway’s The Pillow Book (1996).

Kino Lorber Studio Classics will release Robert Michael Lewis’ Pray for the Wildcats (1974 TV Movie), an Alec Guinness double feature of The Captain’s Paradise (1953) and Barnacle Bill (1957), and also a double feature of Sweeney! (1977) and Sweeney 2 (1978) on 3/3.

On 3/10, Kino Lorber Studio Classics will release Andrew V. McLaglen’s The Rare Breed (1966), James Neilson’s Night Passage (1957), Jacques Tourneur’s Canyon Passage (1946), and a Sergio Leone Westerns Blu-ray set that includes A Fistful of Dollars (1964), For a Few Dollars More (1965), The Good, The Bad and The Ugly (1966), Duck, You Sucker (1971) and Once Upon a Time in the West (1986), with significant extras. Many of these are also new or recent 4K remasters. We’ll post more details as we have them.

Following on 3/10 from Kino (distributing for Scorpion Releasing) is Raw Courage (1984).

On 3/17, Kino Lorber Studio Classics will release Antonio Margheriti’s Cannibal Apocalypse (1980).

And the company is working on Fred Coe’s Me, Natalie (1969) for Blu-ray release later in 2020.

Coming soon on Blu-ray from The Warner Archive Collection are Ballers: The Complete Fifth Season, Big Little Lies: The Complete Second Season, Cimarron (1960), Two on a Guillotine (1965), Penelope (1966), and Underwater! (1954).

And our friends at Shout! Factory and Scream have announced a nice slate of March 2020 titles, including When Calls the Heart: Finding Home, Radioflash, and Elmo’s World: Playdate! on 3/3, Masked and Anonymous (Shout Select), Inseminoid, and Bug on 3/10, the Universal Horror Collection: Volume 4 (includes Night Key, The Climax, Night Monster, and House of Horrors) on 3/17, April Fool’s Day: Collector’s Edition, Frankenstein: The True Story, and The Wizard: Collector’s Edition (Shout Select) on 3/24, and Bones and Munster, Go Home! on 3/31. Shout has also revealed the 4/21/2020 release of Sidney Lumet’s Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead (Shout Select).

We’ll be back on Monday with another new Michael Coate retrospective, more reviews, and another release news round-up, so be sure to check back then.

Have a great weekend and Happy Holidays!
